Award: $3000
Purpose: To support research by doctoral students or doctorally prepared nurses of phenomena related to/in transcultural nursing by providing start-up support for the trajectory of research.
Criteria: For research conducted by doctoral students in partial fulfillment of a doctoral degree or doctorally prepared nurses who have received a doctoral degree within the past three years. Research investigations must focus on transcultural nursing phenomena.
- Applicant must have been a member of TCN society for two years at the time of application (elected officers are not eligible).
- Submit all application material to the Transcultural Nursing Research Award through the online submission process.
- Proposal deadline is October 15, 2024.
- Awardees must present their completed research findings at an Annual Conference within three years of the completion of their research. Awardees will assume all travel expenses and pay the conference registration fee for the Annual Conference at which they present their findings.
- The Journal of Transcultural Nursing has “first refusal rights” to the first publication from research conducted with this Award.
- Awardees must sign a contract outlining the above conditions (4) and complete (if applicable or equivalent for that outside of the USA) an IRS Form W-9 form before receiving the award. The Global Office must receive the signed contract and form before a check is sent to the awardee.
- One research award application per research project can be funded if accepted. You cannot apply for the same project for a second award. It must be a new project.
- All applicants must submit the following:
- A five-page research proposal and a one-page budget.
- Letter of recommendation from dissertation advisor if the applicant is a doctoral student.
- A statement describing past contributions to the Transcultural Nursing Society.
- A statement describing how the research will further the knowledge base in Transcultural nursing.
