Directors of the FSF Board might take on special projects, in addition to their Board responsibilities, to assist FSF in furnishing homes and building strong foundations for families to grow. Please let us know if you have any specific project ideas you would like to propose.
Fundraising
Have you ever been engaged in any specific fundraising efforts? If so with whom, how, and what was the amount raised? Are you comfortable playing an active role in assisting FSF with fundraising efforts?
It is the expectation of every board member to introduce our mission to your network and invite them to become involved and/or donate. The Board sets an annual fundraising goal each year and we expect every board member to make a financial contribution to help us reach that goal. Gifts can be donated personally on an annual or monthly basis or can be raised through your sphere of influence. Please speak to your level of comfort with this expectation.*
Time
Board service is a true commitment of time and energy. We estimate that service could be a commitment of 2-6 hours each month. The board meets 10x per year, both in-person and virtually, on the second Thursday of the month for approximately 90 minutes, starting at 6pm. Do you have any concerns or potential conflicts that may serve as an impediment to this time commitment? If so, how will you manage your time?*
The FSF Board has 3 standing committees. Please check all that you would be interested in joining: (1) Executive, (2) Finance, (3) Development & Fundraising

Executive Committee- Chaired by the Board President. Oversees the Executive Director evaluation, reviews operating documents every other year (completed 2023), identifies board membership needs, reviews prospective member applications and conducts interviews, and responds to internal leadership concerns.Finance- Chaired by the Treasurer. Works with ED to review current financial position, complete budget projections, identify financial needs and drafts annual budget.Development- Identifies new grant, corporate sponsorships, and revenue generating opportunities, cultivates new donors, oversees donor appreciation, and networks with the business community. Development also oversees event specific sub-commites.
