Hair extensions have a maintenace requirement between 4 weeks and 5 months, depending on the method chosen. Your stylist will inform you of your maintenance schedule and will require you to prebook 1-2 appointments in order to keep you on schedule. It is extrememly important that you follow your maintenance schedule. Failure to do so, can result in an additional cost or refusal of future services. The salon only books 2 months at a time, so if your maintenance falls between the 2-5 month period, you will be informed of the time frame in which you will be responsible for reaching out to the salon in order to scheudle your appointment.
If you have to cancel an appointment, make sure to reach out to your stylist in order to reschedule and also adjust your next appointment. If you are scheduled for a "move up" and are unable to reschedule within a 1 week period, you will be asked to reschedule as a "full maintenance".
You will need to arrive to all of your extensions appointments with clean, freshly washed & dry hair. No products used near the root area. If you would like your stylist to wash and dry your hair prior to your hair extension service, you will need to add a seperate blowdry service to your appointment. This will be an additional charge.
Your stylist will go over home care in great detail in order to assure you have the best results possible. A copy of the hair extension home care guide can also be found at www.cynthiasantanahair.com. Failure to follow the proper home care can lead to potential damage to your natural hair and/or extensions. It will be a requirement that you use salon professional products either purchased from Cynthia Santana Hair Studio or approved by your stylist. Your extensions will have a life span of up to 12 months. The timframe will vary depending on how the extensions are cared for and the extension method chosen. The following will be best practices to assure your natrual hair, scalp and extensions are cared for.
- Make sure that you tie your hair up before bed, either in a braid, bun or heatless curlers. This will prevent tangling, breakage and flyaways.
- Brush your hair/extensions twice a day.
- You will no longer be able to air dry your hair. You must dry your hair 100% everytime you wash your hair and if you get sweaty after a workout or sleeping.
- Hair extensions need a lot of hydration, so once a week hair treatments and the use of hair oils will be necessary.
- Products with heat protection will protect your extensions from damage. It will be useful to use heat protection prior to using heat tools.
A retainer of $500 is required for a full installation and $300 for a half installation in order to schedule your initial installation appointment. The retainer, will be deducted from the total cost of your hair extension service.
If you are expriencing any discomfort or notice something wrong with your extensions, please contact the salon as soon as possible.
