Unfortunately, it is past the cancellation period outlined in the NCAE cancellation policy. Due to this, individuals cancelling due to financial hardship will need to continue obligation payments throughout the year unless otherwise approved by the membership manager. We strongly encourage our members to apply for financial hardship if you are experiencing financial difficulties. Please see below for this process.
We have an appeal process for cases of financial hardship. Board policy states “After the initial cancellation period, individuals experiencing qualifying financial hardships such as but not limited to loss of spouse, significant decrease in income, critical health problems, etc.…may submit a written request asking for a review to authorize cancellation.” In that request, we need additional information about your financial situation. If you would like to appeal, please include additional information about your financial situation below. The request will be forwarded to the manager of the Membership Department. North Carolina Retired School Personnel (NCRSP), the retired division of NCAE, is the only state association dedicated solely to working on behalf of all retired education personnel. Please join us in our mission to strengthen the education retiree voice in North Carolina by becoming an NCRSP member.

NCRSP’s mission focuses on three things:

Protecting the State Health Plan
Keeping the Teachers and State Employees Retirement System secure
Enabling volunteerism in public schools by our members
NCRSP gives you the opportunity to stay professionally and socially engaged with colleagues through your local unit’s activities and district and state conventions and workshops.

NCRSP MEMBERSHIP

Annual membership dues are $144, which includes dues for NCRSP, NCAE, and NEA-Retired. Purchasing the NEA-Retired life membership for $300, reducing yearly dues to $109 and protects you against future NEA-Retired dues increases. Members who enroll for bank draft or credit card payment have the option to pay their dues in a single annual amount or spread payments over 10 months ($14.40/month or $10.90/month with an NEA-Retired life membership).

*Membership with NCRSP is required for eligibility of NEA insurance programs—having an NEA-Retired Life membership alone does not make you eligible.

I acknowledge that by cancelling my NCAE membership I will be losing access to the following benefits:
- Access to the NCAE Legal Advocacy Center.
- Access to the NCAE team of Uniserv Directors.
- 1 million dollars in liability insurance.
- All NEA member benefits.
- The opportunity to organize with your colleagues to fight for better NC schools for our educators, staff, and students.
I acknowledge that by cancelling my membership I will be losing these benefits effective immediately upon processing.

NCAE Cancellation Policy

Unfortunately, it is past the cancellation period outlined in the NCAE cancellation policy. Due to this, any individual cancelling for any reason outside of the approved reasons listed below will have financial obligation for dues to continue until the end of the membership year.

Approved reasons for cancellation without obligation:

Retirement
Left teaching/work/resigned/terminated from position
Death
Leave of absence
Members on a leave of absence are also able to switch to a reserve membership status at a reduced rate. If you are interested in this, please notate this in your form or contact the membership department directly.
Financial hardship (ONLY with management approval)
If you would like to appeal for financial hardship, please ensure you select financial reasons as your cancellation reason and include detailed information about your financial situation for management approval. If your request is denied, you will be notified. If you are not notified and receive only a cancellation notice, your obligation has been forgiven.
