1. Complete online application.
2. Upload artifacts/demonstration to showcase artwork and art discipline (file format should be in mp3, video (30 sec-1 minute), or website link provided)
3. Write an essay of 300-500 words on one (1) of the topics below. Your essay must be double spaced, 12 point Times New Roman font, one-inch margins on all sides, name typed in upper right-hand corner of each page. Spelling and grammar will be considered in reviewing the essay.
a. What is the impact of Fine Arts education on your life?
b. What is your position on Fine Arts education in schools?
c. Describe your dance performances, musical performances, theatrical presentations, and print or automated artwork, that elevates your creative influences and your inspiration for continuing the study during college.
4. Two (2) letters of recommendation (submitted electronically by the recommender of your choice):
- One Faculty Recommendation from a Fine Arts Teacher or Administrator that oversees the curriculum of the Fine Arts coursework.
- One letter from a representative of a community service organization (minister, community leader, or a club sponsor who can attest to community service completed) in which the applicant has volunteered within the past 2 years.
PLEASE NOTE: After submitting your online application, a link will be sent to the recommenders requesting their response. Your application will not be complete until the recommendation form has been completed. Electronic Recommendations are also due by 11:59 p.m. on Sunday, March 17, 2024. Please plan accordingly.
5. Photo Submission: The photo will not be used in the scholarship selection, but rather used for publications of scholarship recipients, in print and online. Please adhere to the photo guidelines below:
- The photo must be professional in style and content. The photo should not be a party-shot nor a "selfie". Graduation headshot is strongly encouraged.
- The photo must be of high quality – i.e. 300 dpi. In other words, no cell phone photos. The photo should be a head-shot. There is no need for a full-body photo.
- The photo should not be a party-shot, i.e. taken at a party. No party or scantly-clad photos.
- The photo should not be a Facebook, Instagram, Twitter or other social media photo.
- The photo should not have the word "proof" or any other wording on it.
- The photo should not be Black and White or Sepia. Photos must be in full color.
6. Copy of official school transcript, which includes first-term grades for the senior year. Transcripts must contain official seal of your high school or signature of the Registrar.
7. Copy of your SAT or ACT score report, if available.
8. Completed applications will be reviewed and scored by the Scholarship Committee. Selected applicants are required to participate in a panel interview beginning in March 2023.
Children of chapter sorority members are NOT eligible for scholarship awards from the chapter.
