East St. Paul Farmers Market Rules and Regulations
Please read and understand all Market Rules and Regulations
1.All vendors are encouraged to read: The Province of Manitoba' 's Farmers Market Guidelines. http://www.gov.mb.ca/health/publichealth/environmentalhealth/protection/docs/farmers_market.pdf
2.There will be no tear down or removal of vendor booths prior to 2:00pm the day of the market. (Weather conditions permitting) This applies to vendors who sell out of products prior to closing.
3.Vendors are responsible for the set up and take down of their own booth as well as the clean-up necessary within their allotted area.
4. Staking down of tents/canopies/umbrellas is MANDATORY.
5. All vendors are required to clean up their site by 3:00pm. Water and ice are not permitted to be dumped on Farmers Market site. Keep in mind of appropriate drainage.
6.Vendors are required to supply their own tables, chairs, and tents as well as any other required equipment necessary.
7. Vendors and their signage and products must not encroach into their neighbours' space.
8.Vendors who sell prepared foods or sample edible products are required to have a Food Handling Safety Certificate and adhere to all Food Handling Regulations set forth by Public Health Manitoba.
9. Farmers Market staff reserve the right to relocate vendors' booths due to extenuating circumstances. There is no absolute guarantee of booth positioning. Requests are considered and all efforts to accommodate everyone will be made.
10. Vendor booths may not exceed the measurements of 12'X12'.
11. Vendors are not permitted to lend their booths out to anyone not registered with the East St. Paul's
12. Vendors are not permitted to have pets on the Farmers Market site.
13. Vendors are not permitted to smoke on the Farmers Market Site.
14. Alcohol and drugs, including cannabis, is PROHIBITED on the Farmers Market site.
15. All vendors using power cords must have them out of sight, hidden, or covered to prevent a tripping hazard and other risks of injury.
16. Generators and other equipment required that produce excessive noise are not permitted unless otherwise prearranged with the Market Manager or designate. Generators must have a DB level of 75 or lower.
17. Parked vehicles will not be permitted on the Farmers Market site unless otherwise arranged with the Market Manager or designate.
18. East St. Paul Farmers Market does not tolerate inappropriate behaviour including verbal abuse. physical assault, and/or harassment. If inappropriate action is reported. you may be asked to leave. Failure to comply will result with the involvement of local authorities.
19. All vendors who apply and are approved must provide a cancellation deposit of $40.00. by either cash or cheque. in addition to the vendor fees prior to their participation in the market.
20. Vendors are required to give a 72-hour notice of cancellation. Vendors who comply with this rule will be granted a full refund of their cancellation deposit. Once a vendor has cancelled, their spot will be given to the next person on the waiting list.
21. Cancellations without proper notice will not be granted a refund of their cancellation deposit. They may also jeopardize their involvement in future Farmers Market dates.
22. These rules apply to full time vendors as well. If you wish to become a full-time vendor and book all dates listed. you are required to adhere to the same cancellation regulations. More than one no-show may result in the dismissal of your booth.
23. The Market Manager or designate reserves the right to allow exemptions when cancellations are due to emergencies (i.e. medical or family emergencies or crop failure These exemptions will be made based on the circumstances and require a letter of explanation from the vendor to the Market Manager.
24. Vendors who choose to become a full-time vendor must pay applicable fees upon reserving their full-time space. if approved by the Market Manager or designate.
25. All other vendor fees must either be pre-paid or paid upon arrival at Market to the Market Manager.
26. Outstanding fees not paid by the due date will mean forfeiture of dates.
27. Requests for additional dates will not be approved until outstanding fees have been paid.
28. The free weeks offered within a Full-time Vendors application applies to dates where you cannot attend or when the Market is cancelled. You may not request a refund for these free weeks.
29. Full-time vendors are required to pay a flat rate. with knowing the risk for potential cancelled dates beyond
30. Full time vendors who do not adhere to the rules and regulations will not be guaranteed a space for the following dates in the Market.
31. If a vendor is late for more than two times, they will be reviewed upon and may not be considered for
32. All vendors must understand that they do not have a designated spot in the Market. Vendors have the risk to be moved into a different spot each Sunday. Full-time Vendors may request a designated spot; however, allocation will be decided upon by the Market Manager or designate.
33. In cases of bad weather, cancellation or early closure will be determined that day by the Market Manager or designate. Vendors are still required to show up as booked in their application, unless otherwise notified by the Market Manager or designate. In cases of rain (light showers/down pours), vendors have the option to pack up their product if it is at risk of damage but shall remain on the site unless approved to leave the site by the Market Manager or designate. In cases of consistent lightning/thunder. the Market may cancel for part or all of the day. Cancellation and closures of the Market in all circumstances will be determined at the discretion of the Market Manager or designate.
