    These prestigious awards honor our alumni including School of Medicine graduates, and current and former residents, fellows, and faculty. The Johns Hopkins Medicine Alumni Association presents two award categories:

    The Distinguished Medical Alumnus/Alumna Award
    Honors alumni of the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and The Johns Hopkins Hospital who have demonstrated excellence and achievement through their personal and professional accomplishments. 

    The Samuel P. Asper Award for Achievement in Advancing International Medical Education
    Dr. Samuel Asper, a 1940 graduate of the School of Medicine who served as Dean of the American University of Beirut School of Medicine in the mid-to-late 1970s, established this award to recognize alumni who, after training at Johns Hopkins, return to their home countries to make significant impact on the health and education of their fellow citizens.
