Off-Season Build Crew Application 2023

The off-season Off-Site Team are the folks that are largely responsible for creating, building, and maintaining all of the structures, storage, decor, and other things both creative and logistic for Neotropolis (April) and Wasteland Weekend (September), sometimes simultaneously.

THIS IS NOT THE FORM TO USE IF YOU WANT TO HELP *AT* THE EVENT. It's also not the form to use if you want to be part of what we call our BUILD CREW, who work in the week leading up to the event ON-SITE. The form for on-site build crew is under the volunteer application on either the Wasteland Weekend or Neotropolis website.

We can use all manner of skills- from heavy lifting, carpentry, electrical, mechanical, metalwork, painting, and various types of fabrication. Some light to heavy lifting may be called for.

The Off-Site Team generally do 4 FULL DAYS in the off-season to earn an event ticket.

This team will be located at our California City base of operations. You will be responsible for your own transportation to and from the location on the day(s) you have confirmed your attendance. Obviously if you are accepted, we will provide you with the address.

We do ask that you don't just show up at the Build Yard without some kind of prior approval and acknowledgement from staff.

We get far more people applying than we need. Please give us specifics. Are you a licensed contractor or electrician? Maybe you build sets for theaters or the film industry. The more you can describe your experience and how your skills could be useful for our organization, the more likely you are to be selected. For example, if you indicate "mechanic/vehicle repair" how skilled and experienced are you in that area, exactly?
