  • Plot Synopsis

Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, based on the popular 1988 MGM film, takes us to the French Riviera for high jinks and hilarity. Sophisticated, suave with a good dash of mischief, this hysterical comedy features a delightfully jazzy score by David Yazbek (The Full Monty) and was nominated for a staggering eleven Tony Awards.Lawrence Jameson makes his lavish living by talking rich ladies out of their money. Freddy Benson more humbly swindles women by waking their compassion with fabricated stories about his grandmother's failing health. After meeting on a train, they attempt to work together, only to find that this small French town isn't big enough for the two of them. They agree on a settlement: the first one to extract $50,000 from a young female target, heiress, Christine Colgate, wins, and the other must leave town. A hilarious battle of cons ensues that will keep audiences laughing, humming and guessing to the end! "Dirty Rotten Scoundrels" is presented through special arrangement with Music Theatre International (MTI).

  • Audition Preparation

Our auditions are going to be fun and full of opportunity to shine. We are looking for performers wanting to show their stuff - so bring it all in as you sing and dance in front of and with your fellow actors. As our Director likes to say, “For many of you, the Audition is our First Rehearsal.” Prepare a verse and chorus of an appropriate song (do your research - we love it when actors have thought about the show!) Up to two minutes. A bluetooth speaker for your accompany music will be available. In addition, we will have cold readings, direct ability exercises, and a basic dance audition on site (choreography to be taught on location). Please wear comfortable clothing, appropriate footwear, bring water and expect to be there for the entire audition block. Auditions include performing up to two minutes a verse and a chorus (or equivalent) from a Broadway show, reading sides from the script, and learning some dance choreography on site. Please wear comfortable clothing and have appropriate footwear. Please note, you MUST be 18 by the time of our first performance in April 2023 to be considered for this cast.
