Reuse Artist Residency 2023 - Application Form
CUCCR is excited to announce the 2023 Creative Reuse Artist Residency! This year applications will be open to undergraduate students from all departments of Concordia University. The Creative Reuse Artist Residency is an opportunity for makers to focus on and highlight the dynamic potential for reuse and repurposing of materials. Participants are encouraged to consider the full life cycle of their creations and other themes including circular economies and social and environmental sustainability. Deadline to submit is November 30, 2022 @ 11:59pm. You can reach out to reuse@concordia.ca if you have any questions about the application process.
Residency Details
Between January and March, 6 artists will have access to studio space at 4th Space (dates and times to be discussed) where they will be invited to use their dedicated area to create and share their process. Selected participants will have full access to CUCCR’s materials to help in creating works that explore creative reuse/repurposing and care in material practices. The residency will culminate the week of March 13-17th as each artist will put on participatory public engagement moments helping to build conversation around sustainability and reuse. This might take the form of a workshop, a community conversation, a co-creation session, a skill share, etc. 4th Space and CUCCR teams will be available to help you develop this aspect of your residency.
Eligibility
Applicants must be undergraduate students of any faculty at Concordia University. Applicants must be prepared to actively create and use 4th Space as studio space periodically over the course of January, February and March and, be prepared to engage the public in their process for at least one intervention that suits their practice.
