Applicants must be at least 18 years old to enroll in MITEE. *Applicants who do not have a diploma or credential from a regionally accredited US College/University must submit a transcript to a recognized US credentialing agency (e.g., a credentialing agency member of NACES the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services) for credit equivalency evaluation. If the evaluation determines the non-US transcript to be equivalent to a bachelor's degree or higher in the US. the adult learner will then be eligible for an AMS credential upon successful completion. If the evaluation determines that the non-US transcript is not the equivalent of a bachelor's degree or higher, then an Associate credential will be awarded. If English is not the applicant's first language,a Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) may also be required. Program Overview The Infant & Toddler (I&T) and Early Childhood (EC) Credential programs consist of two parts: 1. Academic Phase 2. Practicum Phase (Student teaching)
The Academic phase consists of 5 months of onlineThe academics portion is a rigorous, classroom learning courses followed by a 2 1/2 week summer residency. Online Learning: (IT) January 3. 2023- May 30. 2023 (EC) January 4, 2023- May 31, 2023 Once a week class meeting during this time AND approximapresentations. This is a demanding and highly 10 hours of classwork weekly.rewarding segment of the MITEE program. Residency: July 6 22, 2023Classes held in residency begin at 8am and end at 5pm with a one-hour lunch break.

Minimum 3 hours/day. 5 mornings/week in the same classroom for the duration of the 9-month academic year (Sep. 2023 June 2024) (On-site evaluation visits by Field Consultants will be required for candidates engaged in a Supervised Practicum: 3 for Early Childhood and 4 for Infant & Toddler. 4 or more on-site evaluation visits may be required for those involved in a self-directed Practicum

The student teaching Practicum provides students a real-world classroom experience under the direct supervision of a qualified Montessori educator at a qualified and accredited Montessori school. Alongside this Practicum, adult learners connect monthly throughout the year to refresh and gain new skills and to come together to discuss the practical applications of what they have learned in their classroom setting.
