The Booker Prize is awarded annually to the author of the best (in the opinion of the judges) eligible work of long-form fiction.
Submissions for the 2023 prize are managed by the in-house Booker Prize Foundation team. They open on Tuesday December 13 and deadlines for submissions are staggered between Monday January 30 and Monday June 5 2023.
Please read the full rules before completing a call-in nomination form, which include details of eligibility, deadlines, where to send print and PDF copies of books and where to direct any questions.
Eligible works must be published by a publishing house based in the UK or Ireland. Authors are not permitted to enter their own works. The work must be published in the UK or Ireland between 1 October 2022 and 30 September 2023.
The standard submission form is available here
Call-ins
The call-in system is another method of submission for the prize and the judges are required to consider the nominations carefully.
Each imprint may nominate alongside its standard submission/s, up to five further eligible works. The deadline is Monday March 7 2023.
Nominations should be supported by the full PDF of the book, the first chapter in a separate file, and a justification letter (no more than 250 words) on headed notepaper, written and signed by the commissioning editor, explaining why the work should be considered. If no text is available at the time of call-in, it should be forwarded as soon as it is available.
