ENTRY DEADLINE: Online registration closes on Wednesday, November 23, 2022 at 11:59 pm or when capacity limits (125 dancers) have been reached. Late entries may be accepted at the discretion of the Organizer up to 48-hours in advance of the event and a $20 late fee would apply. NO REFUNDS.
Dancer(s) must have a valid ScotDance Card.
PHOTOGRAPHY: By registering online, you are agreeing to allow SDGHDA to use you/your dancer's photograph on our website and social media.
PLEASE NOTE: Registration is deemed complete only AFTER payment has been processed. To process payment, you will be required to submit a credit or debit card payment using PayPal. You are NOT required to have a PayPal account to complete a registration. If you have an existing PayPal account, please use the email associated with that account to register. If you have any issues completing the payment portion of the registration, please register a second time. Should you continue to have issues, please email email@example.com and you will be sent a PayPal invoice to complete the registration process.
PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING COVID 19 PROTOCOLS CAREFULLY:
This event is being held in compliance with all provincial health and safety orders in effect at the time of the entry being posted as well as facility requirements for Covid-19.
Our goal is to provide a safe, calm, inclusive and positive environment for all participants. We appreciate unexpected situations could arise on the day that may require action that is meant to protect our dancers, judges, volunteers and other participants.
1. Public Health requirements will be continuously evaluated, and participants will be informed of any Covid-19 protocols prior to the event through social media and email.
2. In the absence of any Public Health Order mandates, the organizing committee for SDGHDA strongly encourages participants to:
a. Wear a mask for your own protection and the protection of others (dancers continue to have a choice whether to wear a mask while competing)
b. Maintain physical distancing wherever possible
c. Frequent hand hygiene
d. Stay home if you feel sick
3. Upon registering for this event and immediately prior to the event, you agree to the requirements and recommendations of any National, Provincial and local Public health and other governmental authorities as well as any requirements from Tagwi Secondary School which may be in effect at the time of the event, as it pertains to the Covid-19 Coronavirus and to adopt all necessary measures to those effects.
4. Participants are required to agree to each of the following at the time of registration:
a. Good Health Declaration
b. Assumption of Risk and Waiver of Liability Relating to Coronavirus/Covid-19.
c. ScotDance Canada Competition and Workshop Waiver Form

Competition Rules and Regulations:
All dancing events are governed by the rules and regulations of the Royal Scottish Official Board of Highland Dancing (RSOBHD) and ScotDance Canada.
This event may be cancelled at any time up to, and including on or during the date of competition, dependent upon public health concerns.
The decision of the judge(s) is final.
Dancers will compete in inverse order of entry. First to enter is last to dance.
Age is as of 12.01am on competition date.
Entry fee must accompany entry.
Late entries may be accepted at the discretion of the Organizer. All late entries will be subject to an additional fee of $20.
Refunds are at discretion of Organizer policy. Where admittance to event is refused based upon good health declaration, fees will be refunded (excepting an administration fee of $5.00 per family).
Dancers must be registered with the RSOBHD or RSOBHD subsidiary body (such as ScotDance Canada) in order to compete.
All competitors must present current RSOBHD registration card prior to receiving awards.
Protests must be made in writing, signed and submitted to the Organizer by the end of the competition day and must be accompanied by a $35.00 fee, refundable, if sustained.
The Organizer reserves the right to combine or split classes.
No category changes will be accepted on the day of competition.
Competitors must be on hand when their event is called or forfeit entry in that dance.
All competitors must remain in costume for award presentations.
Dancers must be dressed appropriately at all times.
Overall trophies will only be awarded to groups with more than six dancers.
Dancer of the Day will be awarded to the Premier dancer with the most points across all age groups with at least six competitors.
SDGHDA will not be responsible for loss of property or injury no matter how caused.
If dancer changes category before date of competition, please email firstname.lastname@example.org ahead of time in order to make proper changes.
Any dancer who decides not to compete after having registered should notify email@example.com in advance of the event.
As per the ScotDance Canada "Child and Youth Abuse Prevention Program" policy, dancers will not be permitted to change in public areas, nor will dancers be permitted to be in the competition area only wearing bra tops or sports bras with dickies. Dancers must wear their jackets/vests, hoodies, studio jackets or tank tops over any bra-type top used for dancing whenever they are outside the designated change area. We ask all dancers and parents for their cooperation in this regard and to please use the designated change areas when changing.
