BRIEF SUMMARY OF VOLUNTEER ROLES
1. Competition Office - Staffing the event Race Office. Setup and assist with Team Captains' Meetings. Jury Support. Bib sorting and distribution. Compiile results.
2. Pre and Post Race Construction [Logistics Crew] - Building and installing fences, banners and other projects as required. Contingency team for last minute projects of any type at short notice.
3. Course Setup/Maintenance/Takedown [Course Crew] - Setup fencing, v-boards and hand raking before, during and after the race.
4. Course Controllers [Course Crew] - Spectator and team support access control on the course and in the stadium and lap counting on course.
5. Range Setup/Maintenace/Takedown [Range Crew] - Set up of the range, preparation of targets, reset and maintenance.
6. Range Recording [Range Crew] - Recording athlete shooting results. Training provided but requires good eyesight to see targets.
7. Stadium Setup/Maintenance/Takedown [Stadium Crew] - Setup v-boards, fencing and whiskers. Raking, snow clearing and general maintenance during the race. (This is a physically demanding job, must be able to lift and move heavy objects).
8. Start/Finish Porter [Stadium and Timing Crews] - Assist and organize athletes in the start/finish area, provide refreshments at the finish; care and transportation of athlete belongings.
9. Equipment Check [Stadium Crew] - Perform safety checks on rifles and ammunition.
10. Timing [Timing Crew] - Assist with backup timing plan. Attach/remove timing chips in Start/Finish areas. Result runners, collation of shooting and penalty loop results (sticker room).
11. Accreditation - Work with accreditation ahead of competition and provide support on site.
12. Medical - Provide medical support on-site for athletes, team personnel and spectators throughout the entire site and on course. REQ: 80hr Wilderness First Aid OR Paramedic, Nurse, Doctor, EMR personel.
13. Media Relations [Media/TV] - Assist media members as required.
14. Access Control and IBU Family Club - Venue is restricted and requires accreditation for access. Access control personel will be stationed throughout the parking lot and venue and will assist Range, Course, Stadium, and Logistics crews.
17. Ceremonies/Pageantry - Help with opening ceremony, awards, and closing ceremonies. Present awards. Setup/takedown of medal ceremony podiums, backdrops and inflatable arches.
16. Hosting/VIP Services [Hospitality] - Liaise with IBU officials, VIP guests, athletes, and spectators, welcoming them to Canmore and introducing them to the town and venue. (Speaking multiple/other languages is an asset).
17. Airport Greeter [Hospitality] - Be the first to welcome the Teams from around the world at the Calgary International Airport (YYC). Please indicate the languages you speak below.
18. Volunteer Office - Sign in/out volunteers, answer general questions as well as distribution and collection of volunteer bibs and radios. Help get volunteers where they need to go.
19. Doping Control [Anti-Doping] - Notify, accompany and chaperone athletes selected for testing. If no Doping Control is on site, you will be redeployed as Marshalls.
20. Logistics Support/Gopher/SWAT [Logistics Crew] - A Person who can do it all. Support competition, volunteer, and logistics teams. Pickup/Delivery (drivers), construction, messenger.
21. Bib Washing/Sorting [Competition Office] - Cleaning and sorting of bids post race and delivery back to the Competition Office the evening prior to the next race.
22. Wax Room Service - General service and answering requests for items from teams. A person who can do it all and is able to address multiple concern on short notice. Must be fit and able to lift 50+ lbs.

24. Anywhere I'm needed! - We always have areas that need some extra support.
