Jazz Honour Band Application Form

The Saskatchewan Band Association is so happy to announce our first Saskatchewan Jazz Honour Band! The Jazz Honour Band program is designed to provide an enrichment experience for accomplished young musicians, to support the ongoing development of youth jazz musicians and to showcase youth jazz talent in our province. Students wanting to participate in this program should be motivated and looking to achieve a new level of jazz excellence.

Jazz Band students from Grades 9 - 12 that they feel are up to the challenge of the spring Jazz Honour Band are encouraged to audition. The SBA Saskatchewan Jazz Honour Band will happen on March 3 & 4, 2023 in Regina. Those selected will be notified and provided additional details in early February.

The Process

Students - you can either work on your audition recording on your own or with the support/help of your jazz band teacher.

Review the Audition Requirements - Jazz Honour Band Audition Information or online at saskband.org/Audition information
Practice and prepare your audition recording - be sure to NOT identify yourself in any way on your audio recording. You are to submit only ONE recording. Please label the file with your last name & instrument. (ex: Tinani/Trumpet)
Complete the Application form - including uploading your audio recorded audition - by the January 20, 2023 audition deadline.

The Jazz Honour Band Coordinator and committee will review all nominations and recordings. Final selections for the band are anticipated by the begininng of February. You will be notified if you are selected to participate.
