Basic Qualifications: Please check the "Telecommunicator Testing Information Link" on the police department website for all required information, criteria, and qualifications.
* Applications are due March 1st, 2025 at 5 pm. Testing dates are tentativelyscheduled for March 2025. You will be notified of the testing date after the application deadline. Applicants will be notified of any deadline or testing changes through the contact information provided in this application. * An applicant shall be at least 18 years old at the time of appointment * A high school diploma (or its equivalent) is required. * The applicant must be a United States Citizen * An applicant must not have any felony convictions nor have been convicted of any serious misdemeanors. * An applicant must agree to comply with all requirements of the position and have the ability to pass all examination and training requirements including but not limited to an initial background investigation, written examination, oral interview, polygraph, psychological examination, and pre-employment medical exam.* An applicant must reside within (15) miles of the City of Kewanee within one year of hire. * An applicant must also be able to furnish a copy of any documents requested by the Board of Fire and Police Commissioners or background investigators. Documents include a certified birth certificate, high school diploma (or its equivalent), a certified copy of a college transcript, military records, etc.
