Let us show you how fun opera is on and off the stage. Designed for all skill levels, Sarasota Youth Opera will explore the world of opera through chorus and acting. In addition, youth opera members will be able to take one-on-one coachings at no extra cost and perform in concerts. 

Open Enrollment will be from November through February.

Rehearsals will begin the week of January 16. 

Prep Chorus: Ages 8 to 10
Saturdays 10:00-11:00 a.m.	January - May	$200
Must be 8 or older by December 31, 2023

 

Mixed Chorus Ages 11 to 18
Tuesdays & Thursdays 5:30-6:50 p.m.	Jan.- May	$225
Must be 11 or older by December 31, 2023

SYO processes tuition on a semester basis. The amounts and info below pertain to the Winter/Spring 2023 semester only.

Tuition is non-refundable and cannot be pro-rated. If a singer should join late in the semester, discontinue before the semester ends, or be asked to leave due to behavior and/or attendance issues, no refunds will be made and any remaining payments will continue to be processed for those who choose the Auto-Bill Payment Plan option.

There is a $25 reservation fee towards your tuition for the Auto-Bill Payment Plan or the Tuition Assistance Application. These options can be chosen when you get the follow-up email after you have submitted this form.

You will receive an email with payment options and information within 24 hours of completing your application. Payment options will include sibling discount and auto-bill payment plan.

The auto-bill payment plan option will have a $25.00 reservation fee towards your first payment. Your total due will be evenly divided between the following four (4) payment dates: 

February 3, March 3, April 7, May 5

I give permission for my child’s full participation in Sarasota Youth Opera (SYO). 

I hereby permit the use of my child’s name, quotations, performances, voice and likeness in print or any other medium, including without limitation to photographs, video recordings, and/or audio recordings (collectively “Recordings”) in connection with SYO activities for any purposes SYO may desire, including without limitation to advertisements and other publications, film, videotape, audio tapes, television, social media or theatrical use approved by Sarasota Opera Association (SOA) staff. I further herby assign any and all of my child’s copyright interests in such Recordings to SOA.

I agree to make payments to SOA until the outstanding balance is paid. I understand that tuition is non-refundable and cannot be pro-rated. If my credit or debit card should be declined three (3) times during a semester, I understand that a decline fee of $25 will be charged to my account.

Prior to the first rehearsal you will receive a Medical Release Form to be filled out and notarized before coming to rehearsal. There will be a notary at the first few rehearsals to help complete this paperwork. 

Scholarships are awarded on the basis of financial need. The questions below are designed to assist in understanding each family’s situation and to ensure that financial aid is awarded to those qualified members with the greatest need.

Your tuition assistance amount will be communicated via email within 5 business days, and you will be provided with the option of paying the remaining balance in-full or on a payment plan (divided into four equal payments).
