This form is a guide to assist with Safety Regulations Part V for voluntary self-declaration of compliance. Spot checks may be carried out by a sailing committee member or delegate at any time.

This form is valid for a maximum of one year, or less if inspection identifies that improvements are required.

All boats - Category C Event*

	Checked
Centre board correctly mounted (can be pinned)
Washboards & hatches secure
Gas bottles, batteries & heavy items are secured
Name & Sail Number in 50mm lettering on each side of the hull. Buoyant equipment is marked
Adequate tool kit.
Adequate tow line - minimum twice the length of the boat
Functional motor, rated for boat length in operational position 0.6kW per metre LOA
5l minimum of fuel
Anchor, chain & warp as prescribed
Floatation jackets, 1 per person Type 403 to be worn
600mm x 600mm orange distress flag
Sails bent on so area can be reduced or removed
Reliable compass
Manual bilge pump or 9l bucket with lanyard
Fire Extinguisher (.9kg) dry powder or equivilant
Waterproof torch with spare batteries
First Aid kit
Radio capable of receiving weather forecasts

Additional Requirements - Category B Event

Life buoy or life ring
PFD Type 402 to be worn
Flares - 2 red handheld & 1 orange smoke
Marine VHF
