VOLUNTEER TEAMS
This is each parent’s time to Shine! We ask that each family complete at least 20 hours of volunteer work with SOPA for this production. This will go fast and be so fun! We want to ignite your passions and allow you time to shine as well as your student! Earning 20 hours of service get you on our Reel of Recognition. 25+ hours of service unlocks the PARENT PASS! Parent Passes are a free pass to watch your student when they are on stage in the show!
Please sign up for the teams you think you can best serve! By signing up, you are NOT obligated to help any particular team, nor are you unable to help a team you didn't sign up for. This is for the Team Leads to contact you about opportunities to serve.
***ALL PRODUCTION TEAM LEADS who sign up for a FULL SEASON (all 5 shows) will receive a free tuition for one class per session (Fall, Winter, Spring) as a thank you! This is an advisory role, so you do not need to actively have a student in the production in order to serve.
PARENT TEAM DESCRIPTIONS
COSTUME TEAM
To sew or not to sew. That is not the question! Any agreeable volunteer is welcome! Costume team will need seamstresses, hot-glue-ers, spreadsheet organizers, and more! Most costume team hours will be needed prior to show week, but will also require 1-2 volunteers for each show. We especially need someone who can hand sew available during show week. This show is HUGE and each student will have multiple costumes. You would be instrumental in making sure this show shines as bright as it can if you are able to assist on this committee. We will meet on Fridays from 6:00-9:00pm and Saturdays (during rehearsals).
Costume Director: Jade Bolton
HAIR AND MAKE-UP TEAM
Again, no experience required! Volunteers will be needed prior to each show, and 1-2 volunteers needed during each show. This position is needed for the first 2 hours of every dress rehearsal and from call time to show time for each show. This is a natural makeup show, but we will have many wigs, and wig changes. We will teach you how to do this if you have any interest in learning. You will be instrumental in ensuring that the students have a smiling face to encourage them during the shows as they quickly switch out of costumes and wigs.
Production Team Leader: Ambree Reilly
REHEARSAL PARENT VOLUNTEERS
One parent will be helpful to volunteer during rehearsals. This parent will help monitor behavior during rehearsals and especially during lunch, sign students in and out and call/text parents during rehearsals as needed. This is an awesome opportunity if you wish to take in some of the rehearsal process!
Cast Coordinator: Kyrra Daniel
PHOTOGRAPHY/HISTORIAN
Photographs rehearsals, edits/uploads photos to the smugmug account, photographs the dress rehearsals and does the program headshots.
Photography Director: Kendra McElhanon
FRONT OF HOUSE
Responsible for any lobby decorations, set up and clean up before and after shows in the lobby and main bathrooms, selling tickets for door sales, running concessions pre show, intermission and post show and ushering if needed. This is a huge job, but very fun and exciting.
Front of House Director: Kathy Duncan
BOX OFFICE
CONCESSIONS
PROGRAM TEAM
Works closely with the Executive Artistic Director and printing company to create and edit the show program.
Production Team Leader: Jeni Yang
PROPS TEAM
Students will be assisting this team. They will learn to imagine, create and build out the props for this production. The parent who leads this committee will aid in facilitating the proper prop techniques and tools to the students, while working closely with the Director to provide all that is needed.
Props Director: Tanya Zhou
PUBLICITY TEAM
Each family should work to publicize the show using social media, posting show posters around town, talking to family, friends, church family, etc. We will have special packets to aid in publicity for this production. There will be an element of sponsorship/advertising for this team.

FUNDRAISING TEAM
We have some very fun thoughts for the fundraising team for this production. We are looking for 1 or 2 individuals who love planning and executing events, creating auction baskets, working as a team and sharing their love for SOPA! Baskets can be separated into its own team if requested. This team will also set up lunches during rehearsal and show weeks.
Production Team Leader: open
SET TEAM
We will be building a fairly large set for this show and could use strong, able bodied folks who are willing and able to execute the artistic vision for the show through set building! Set building will happen mainly during rehearsals, but we will have at least one extra day for students to participate in the building and painting of the set. The student volunteer hours will count towards parent hours and may be used to earn that Parent Pass!
Set Director: Clifford Calasopa
BACKSTAGE TEAM
Plan to be present for at least one dress rehearsal and two shows. This will involve maintaining order backstage, making sure props are ready. Backstage parents should be prepared to “parent” all students equally, and not focus only on their own student(s). It is recommended to come to the final two Saturday rehearsals to gain an overall awareness of the show and its actors.

ERRANDS TEAM
During rehearsal and show weeks, specifically, we need parents who can run last minute errands for the other teams those weeks. This might be as simple as coordinating meals for the Artistic Team, grabbing last minute medications or unexpected needs.

AMAZON RETURNS TEAM
This team will check in each week with Coordinator, Costume Lead, and Artistic Director about possible Amazon returns. Return slips can be printed out or emailed for this team. Return location can be set up with the Coordinator.

CARE TEAM
This team will lead the charge on all things community. Within the cast, crew, and greater community. Organizing cast/crew encouragement activities, cultivating relationships, leading the charge on cast/crew art for auction, implementing the biggest fan program, signing t-shirts, fliers and more! We aim to bless and love all and this team will play an integral part in ensuring we follow SOPA’s mission and vision.

CUSTODIAN TEAM
Ensuring that each space is cleaned and reset after each rehearsal, meeting and show. Deep cleaning the entire studio and theater once a week. Making sure that everything is restocked and that low products and supplies are purchased.
Production Team Leader: Christy Peczeniuk
CAST PARTY TEAM
Following our production of Annie Jr., we would love to have a Cast Party for the cast members and their families, and the artistic team. This will require set up, tear down, food, snacks, minimal decorations. All costs will need to be cleared by SOPA, but will then be reimbursed by SOPA.
