  • Student Life & Learning Support

    STUDENT-STAFF HIRING - 2023/24
  • Introduction

  • Welcome to the Student Life & Learning Support (Hiring Cycle 2023-2024) Student Staff Hiring Application Form. The department of Student Life & Learning Support is comprised of the following:

    • International Student Support
    • Learning Support (Math Support, Study Skills & Transition Support, Writing & Language Support)
    • Student Life & Campus Engagement (Orientation, Leadership, and Student Learning Centre (SLC))
    • Tri-Mentoring Program

Student Life & Learning Support (SLLS) provides opportunities for students to take ownership of their TMU experience so that they grow as socially, civically and academically engaged members of their communities.

It is crucial that you review the various student staff positions available across each Student Life & Learning Support unit and familiarize yourself with their responsibilities and the required qualifications (including minimum CGPA) for each post.

Each applicant can only apply for two positions.

Please note that some positions require a Spring and Fall/Winter commitment. Those positions will be labelled S&F/W.

APPLICATION DEADLINE: The application deadline for returning student staff and new applicants is Sunday, January 8, 2023, at 11:59 pm EST.

The selection process for candidates to be invited to the Hiring Carousel (which includes participating in a group case study and a 1-1 interview) is based on your cover letter, resume and the answer to the pre-screening question. Here are two resources to help you with your cover letter, resume and 1-1 interview:

    • Career Centre Career Compass and Workshops
    • Writing and Language Support (WLS): If you’d like to check your cover letter/resume, book a 1-on-1 grammar/supported self-editing appointment, or sign up for an interview practice session at WLS (i.e. 1-1 speaking appointment).

Eligibility to apply for SLLS positions is based on your expected graduation date. Please note that you must return to TMU as a full-time undergraduate or graduate student in 2023-2024 to apply for SLLS positions.

For students not qualified to apply to SLLS positions, please visit Jobs On-Campus under Toronto Met Career and Co-op Centre Website for non-Career Boost positions.

If you have questions throughout the application process, please do not hesitate to contact the SLLS Hiring Committee by filling out the SLLS Hiring Inquiry Form.

Thank you for your interest in being part of our student staff team, and we appreciate the information you share with us through this application.

    Best of luck to you!
