Founded in 2016, the Chinese Pride Float, formerly known as the Chinese LGBTQ+ Community Float, serves as a cultural beacon in the Sydney Mardi Gras Parade, celebrating the rich diversity of the Chinese LGBTQ+ community and its allies. This float symbolises unity, pride, and the strength of cultural heritage, aiming to increase the visibility of the Chinese LGBTQ+ community and advocate for love, freedom, and equality within the wider LGBTQ+ community. It stands as a vibrant and inclusive entry, showcasing the colourful and dynamic spirit of the Chinese diaspora, and serves as a cultural bridge between the East and the West. Through its dazzling performances that blend traditional and modern elements, the Chinese Pride Float brings together individuals from various backgrounds to honour the journey towards acceptance and pride in one's identity and heritage, making a strong statement of inclusivity and respect for all identities.

Building a fabulous float is no easy job. It requires not only the concerted efforts of a group of talented volunteers but also sufficient monetary support.
