Acupuncture is a traditional Chinese medicine technique for balancing the flow of energy (called qi or chi) in the body. This is performed by inserting sterile needles or Vitamin B (aquapuncture) into a pet's skin at specific locations of the body called acupuncture points. She may also attach electrodes (electroacupuncture) to the needles to stimulate them. This can enhance the treatment, and also decrease the treatment time needed. There are many health disorders that can benefit from acupuncture. Although this treatment is considered very safe, a pet can experience soreness during of after the treatment. in addition, minimal bleeding can occur at acupuncture sites upon removal of the needles. Signs of drowsiness or even weakness can occur after a treatment, and even last up to a few days. Although mprovement can be seen after 1 treatment, it usually takes several treatments to see a notable difference. Please understand that your pet should not have this treatment if he/she has a bleeding disorder, is pregnant, or has an infection.
