  • ⭐️SHSAT Test Prep for GR 6 & 7: -Limited Seats Available

The Specialized High School Admissions Test (SHSAT) is a test that eighth and ninth graders in New York City take each year to gain admission to one of the city’s elite specialized high schools. The SHSAT is a pencil-and-paper, timed test with two 57-question sections: Math and English Language Arts (ELA). Students have 180 minutes (3 hours) to complete the SHSAT test.

🚨This program is a multipart program, beginning in March 2023 and finishing upon the SHSAT exam at the 8th-grade level. Getting accepted for this program is a commitment to complete all program sessions.

The Algebra Curriculum will cover all the math topics appearing on the SHSAT admissions test. Students will improve their problem-solving, mathematical reasoning, and logical thinking by the end of the course. We will develop our understanding of the math topics and ideally improve math, and test-taking skills.

Math topics Reinforced in the SHSAT Math prep:  Arithmetic, Algebra, Geometry, and Statistics

ELA Curriculum: The SHSAT English Language Arts sections include 3–5 Stand-Alone Questions. students will practice and learn how to apply their gained knowledge of Sentence Structure and Formation; Punctuation; Usage; Knowledge of Language; Organization, Unity, and Cohesion; and Topic Development to answer questions.

This course will target students’ growth in the areas of literacy. The English/Language Arts course balances reading, writing, speaking, listening, and language skills.

  • High School Saturday Program 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM

⭐️Architecture DDC Curriculum: *Eligible for 1 HS elective Credit for qualified scholars

This course provides students with an overview of professional occupations in Architecture, Construction Management, Building Inspection Technology, City and Regional Planning, Architectural Engineering, and Landscape Architecture. This course is an introduction to construction materials and processes.

    Learning Goals:
Students will learn to see the built environment through new eyes, to think about their individual interactions with architecture, and to think about how designers, business people, and consumers of architecture can together create ethically sound buildings for the future.

⭐️Entrepreneurship " Startup Garage" ECO 10050 : *Eligible for 1 HS elective Credit for qualified scholars

This course demands extensive teamwork and personal initiative. You will need to spend considerable time on research, learning, and team meetings. This course provides real-world, hands-on learning on what it’s like to start a high-tech company.

This is a practical class – Our goal, within the constraints of the classroom and a limited amount of time, is to create a "real" entrepreneurial experience with all of the pressures and demands of the real world in an early-stage start-up plan.

Students will be talking to partners, and competitors frequently. Students will use a business model to brainstorm each part of the desired company and submit a business plan.

Finally, based on the customer and market feedback gathered, you would use agile development to rapidly iterate your product to build something customers would actually use and buy.

⭐️Advance Math I (In preparation for PSAT): *Eligible for 1 HS elective Credit for qualified scholars

The Preliminary SAT/ National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT) is a standardized test used for college admissions in the United States. 10th and 11th graders take the PSAT to practice for the SAT and to secure a National Merit distinction or scholarship.

Our PSAT Math curriculum is composed of 14 lesson plans:

    Lesson 1. Number systems
Lesson 2. Exponents & square roots
Lesson 3. Equations & Inequalities - Multistep, Rational, Extraneous Solutions, Systems, Absolute
Lesson 4. The Coordinate Plane - Slope: Parallel/perpendicular lines, Intercept, Midpoint, distance between two
    points on a line.
Lesson 5. Charts & Graph - scatterplot, line graph, bar graph, Box plot, stem & leaf plot, two-way table
Lesson 6. Rate, percents, percent increase/decrease, ratio & Proportion - direct & indirect variations
Lesson 7. Quadratic Equations - factoring and solving, forms of Quadratics.
    Lesson 8. Growth & Decay
Lesson 9. Functions & roots of a function
Lesson 10. Problem solving - Real life situations
Lesson 11. Data analysis - Mean, Mode, Median, Range, probability
Lesson 12. Geometry - lines & angles, four side figures, triangles, Right triangles & Pythagorean theorem
Lesson 13. Trigonometry - SOHCAHTOA, similar triangles
Lesson 14. Circles - Area, circumference, finding length of arc, area of sector, tangents to a circle, Equation of a Circle

⭐️ Advanced Math II (In preparation for SAT): - *Eligible for 1 HS elective Credit for qualified scholars

SAT Math’s Subject Test is designed to map the Mathematical and Quantitative aptitude of applicants.

The test is for all students with no age bar, conducted 6-7 times in a year depending upon the nation and region. The duration of SAT Math’s Subject Test is 60 minutes and comprises 50 Multiple Choice questions.

Our Advanced Math II covers 4 main lesson plans and inculcates all the Mathematical concepts which are highly applicable in real life, which are useful for students whether they choose to pursue higher Mathematics, or take the SAT exam or not.

    1. Number and Operations: properties of integers; arithmetic word problems; number lines; squares and square roots; fractions and rational numbers; factors, multiples, and remainders; prime numbers; ratios, proportions, and percents; sequences; sets; counting problems; and logical reasoning

    2. Algebra and Functions: operations on algebraic expressions; factoring; exponents; evaluating expressions with exponents and roots; solving equations; absolute value; direct translation into mathematical expressions; inequalities; systems of linear equations and inequalities; factoring; rational equations and inequalities; direct and inverse variation; word problems; and functions.

    3. Geometry and Measurement: geometric notation; points and lines; angles in the plane; triangles; quadrilaterals; areas and perimeters; other polygons; circles; solid geometry; geometric perception; coordinate geometry; and transformations.

    4. Data Analysis, Statistics, and Probability: data interpretation; statistics; elementary probability; and geometric probability

⭐️English Composition (In preparation for SAT): - Eligible for 1 HS Credit

The SAT program is based on what you have already learned in school over the years. But, the questions asked in the SAT tests are more than just your knowledge of numbers and grammar. It tests your critical thinking, logical reasoning and analytical skills. Your proficiency in these skills will determine how well you answer the questions in the least time possible.

The SAT evidence-based reading and writing section requires you to read through the
passage, analyze the text and interpret the message to provide reasonable answers to the questions. To perform
such an inter-relates task, this course will help you build and develop good interpretation skills to break the
main objective of the passage into different parts.

In the writing section, you will come across 11 different questions. You have to spot errors and rectify those
with your ability. Suitable alternatives after rehashing is a prerequisite task in the writing section.

The construction of sentences, proper usage, and understanding grammar would be your prime responsibility. To answer such
complex questions, this course entails frequent writing and editing interactive classwork, homework and
practice tests that help you identify and make corrections on Sentence structure, verb tense, punctuation, parallel construction, grammar usage, subject-verb agreement, etc.

Equally, the reading section of each passage consists of 11 questions. The main purpose of this section is to understand the ability of the student to understand the written text. Applicants are supposed to know the meaning of words. To recognize and know the meaning of a vast number of SAT words, this course is heavily
    driven by vocabulary building.
