2) JUROR
Heidi Vaughan owns Heidi Vaughan Fine Art, an art gallery in the Upper Kirby Galleries and a member of the Houston Art Gallery Association in Houston, Texas. The gallery represents Texas artists, with a special emphasis on those based in Houston. Ms. Vaughan is a fine art dealer and credentialed appraiser who holds a master’s degree in Art History from the University of Houston. She has worked in a professional capacity with many art museums in Houston, including the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, the Blaffer Art Museum, and the Byzantine Fresco Chapel Museum, formerly part of the Menil Collection, and others across Texas.
She has consulted on thousands of works of art and fine art objects from corporate, institutional, and private clients. She is an Accredited Member of the International Society of Appraisers in Fine Art. She also serves s Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Houston Arts Foundation, a nonprofit organization that oversees the care and maintenance of many of Houston’s most iconic public sculptures.
3) ENTRY FEE (up to 4 entries)

• $50 for non-member
*There is NO entry fee for those that have volunteered at least 2 hours of tasks approved by a VAA Chairman. You will receive a coupon code from your VAA Chairman which will allow you to enter with no fee.

4) AWARDS & CATALOG

5) SPECIFICATIONS
A maximum of four (4) entries may be submitted. Artwork may be created from any media, in both 2-D and 3-D with the exception of video works. Work must not have been previously included in a VAA exhibit. A diptych or triptych is considered a single work. 2-D works must be suitably framed or edge-finished and may not be larger than 48" (including frame).
Only conventional picture hanging hooks will be used. Works must be framed and appropriately wired. Complete exhibition requirements and guidelines are available HERE.
6) SUBMISSION GUIDELINES
Titles and prices must be included on your entry form and cannot be changed after submission.
Failure to name files in this way will result in disqualification without a refund.
READ CLOSELY: Image file names should be "Last Name, Entry 1, title.jpg", Last Name, Entry 2, title.jpg", etc.
For example, Bill Jones' first entry entitled Starry Night would look like the following (commas and all): Jones, Entry 1, Starry Night.jpg
Notifications are done by email. Make sure the phone number and email address you enter are correct and messages from Exhibitions@VisualArtsAlliance.org do not go into your spam/junk box.
7) DELIVERY OF ACCEPTED WORKS
Hand deliver works to Sabine Street Studios (1907 Sabine Street, Houston, TX 77007) on Sunday, May 26, from 9-10 am. Works not delivered by 10:00 am sharp will not be included.
Shipping instructions for those mailing accepted artwork will be notified of shipping address at notification. Return postage label will be required. VAA will not assume postage fees.
All works must remain on view until the close of the exhibit - No Exceptions. VAA reserves the right to reject any work that is misrepresented or unsuitably framed, wired, etc. Works requiring special hanging or installation must be done by the artist.
8) PICK-UP OF ACCEPTED WORKS
Artists must pick up their work on Sunday, May 14, from 10 am - 11 am. Work not claimed at that time will be discarded.
9) SALES
VAA does not take a commission on sales. Sales are handled directly by the artist.
10) ELIGIBILITY
This juried exhibition is open to anyone over the age of 18.
11) AGREEMENT
EVERY PRECAUTION WILL BE TAKEN IN HANDLING ARTWORK, HOWEVER, NEITHER VAA NOR SABINE STREET STUDIOS WILL ASSUME ANY RESPONSIBILITY FOR DAMAGE, LOSS OR THEFT DURING THE EXHIBITION, OR AS A RESULT OF SHIPMENT. VAA reserves the right to photograph work or use submitted images for publicity purposes. Entering this competition will constitute agreement with all conditions set forth within this prospectus. VAA is a 501(c)3, non-profit organization.
