Chief Investigator: Ms Natalie McMaster
Investigator: Dr Michael Carey
Investigator: Dr David Martin
Project Description
The purpose of this research project is to explore the technology skills, knowledge and pedagogies associated with teaching in a Primary schooling context. We are interested in teachers' and preservice teachers' self-auditing of these skills to establish their areas/levels of confidence. If you are a teacher or preservice teacher you are invited to participate in this research project.
Participation
If you agree to participate in this research project, you will be asked to complete an online self-audit survey. Please see details in the table below.
At the completion of the self-audit survey you will be provided with a copy of your responses via the email you include in the survey. Your email will only be used to return your survey results or provide you with the results of the research if you have indicated you wish to receive this in the consent section of the online self-audit survey. You may choose to complete the self-audit survey a number of times during the duration of the research project and each time you access the self-audit survey, you will be asked to grant consent again.
Your participation is voluntary. Your participation, or not, will not affect your relationship with USC/members of the research team/ your course coordinator/your tutors and will not affect your academic progression or course grades.

Consent is for your data and information to be collected and stored in a re-identifiable format in the survey but unidentifiable in the focus group interview and used in analysis and publications in a non-identifiable format. Consent is sought for this project and for related, ethics approved, projects that may be undertaken by other research teams.
Risks and Benefits
While there are no anticipated risks beyond normal day-to-day living associated with your participation in this research project, if you become upset during the course of the survey or the focus group interview, and you do not wish to continue, you can stop immediately. Sometimes thinking about the themes presented in this survey can create uncomfortable or distressing feelings. If you need to talk to someone you may wish to contact family or friends/your General Practitioner/your Employee Assistance Program/USC Student Wellbeing (5430 1226)/Lifeline (131114)/Beyond Blue (1300 224 636).

Privacy, Confidentiality and Results
Any data collected as a part of this research project will be stored securely as per USC’s Research Data Management Procedures. Data from your survey will be stored in a re-identifiable coded format (this code will allow us to match your survey data across time) with your email, whilst focus group data will be stored in an unidentifiable manner. All comments and responses will be treated confidentially unless required by law.
The online technology self-audit will be conducted using JotForm software. Information you provide in this survey may be processed, transferred or disclosed in the United States and countries in which their affiliates, services providers or servers are located.
If you would like a summary of findings of this research project, please identify this in the consent page in the online survey. Non-identifiable results may be presented at external or internal conferences or meetings, or by publication.
