Male Cat Neuter In addition to spay/neuter surgery by a highly experienced spay/neuter veterinarian using freshly sterilized instruments, the procedure includes a preoperative exam (done on the same day as the surgery), a pain relief injection, anesthesia, careful monitoring and a postoperative exam. We recommend purchasing pain-relief medication for at home use for cats who can be medicated. There are no external sutures in male cats. PLEASE NOTE THERE IS AN ADDED FEE (SEE BELOW) FOR FLAT-FACED CATS DUE TO SPECIAL ANESTHETIC CONSIDERATIONS

Pyometra (uterine infection)This is an add on price to the cost of the spay. There may be another charge in these cases for fluids-see below. For pyometra, we MUST have records before scheduling. We only do pyometra surgery if the cat is stable at the time of her appointment and even then, it is at doctor discretion.

Added Fee for fluids for Pregnant Cats or cats with pyometra (if fluids are needed)The doctor will sometimes order subcutaneous fluids for highly pregnant cats as a safety precaution.
