Please read our Statement of Faith before proceeding further to fill out your application. Volunteer Applicants, including Board of Directors and Advisors, will sign that they are in complete agreement with Her Haven of Light's Statements of Faith.

We believe in the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments as verbally inspired by God. We believe that the godhead exists eternally in three persons Father, Son and Holy Spirit and that these three are one God. We believe that God is the absolute and sole Creator of the universe and that creation was by divine decree. We believe that mankind was created by a direct act of God in His image but that mankind sinned and thereby incurred not only physical death but also spiritual death which is separation from God. We believe that Jesus Christ was begotten by the Holy Spirit, bom of the virgin Mary. and is truly God and truly man. We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ died for our sins, according to the scriptures. We believe that all who repent of their sins and receive, by faith, the Lord Jesus Christ, are born again as God's children and receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. We believe in the resurrection of the crucified body of our Lord, in His ascension into Heaven, and in His present life there at the right hand of God the Father. We believe in the return of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in glory.

Statement on Marriage, Gender and Sexuality, We believe that the term "marriage" is between one man and one woman in a lifelong. exclusive union. as delineated in Scripture (Genesis 2:18-25. Mark 10:6-9. Ephesians 5:22-23 We believe that God intends sexual intimacy to occur only between a man and a woman who are married to each other (1 Corinthians 6:18, 7:2-5. Hebrews 13:4 We believe that God has commanded that no intimate sexual activity be engaged in outside of a marriage between a man and a woman (Exodus 20:14 We believe that any form of sexual immorality (including but not limited to adultery, fornication, homosexual behavior, bisexual conduct, bestiality, incest, pornography, or any attempt to change one's gender) is sinful and offensive to God (Matthew 15:18-20, I Corinthians 6:9-11, Galatians 5:19-21 We believe that in order to preserve the function an integrity of our organization, and to provide a biblical role model to the clients we serve and members of the community, it is imperative that all person employed by the organization in any capacity, or who serve as volunteers agree to and abide by this Statement on Marriage, Gender and Sexuality and conduct themselves accordingly (Matthew 5:16, Philippians 2:14-16, 1 Thessalonians 5:22 We believe that God offers redemption and restoration to all who confess and forsake their sin. seeking His mercy and forgiveness through Jesus Christ (Acts 3:19-21. Romans 10:9-10. I Corinthians 6:9-11 In the spirit of Christ, every person deserves to be treated with compassion. love. kindness, respect and dignity (Mark 12:28-31. Luke 6:31 Hateful and harassing behavior or attitudes directed toward any individual are inconsistent with the Gospel of Christ and should be repudiated. as they are not in accord with the mission of this organization.

Statement of the Sanctity of Human Life. We believe that all human life is sacred and created by God in His image (Genesis 1:27 Human life is of inestimable worth in all its dimensions, including pre-bom babies, the age, the physically or mentally challenged, and every other stage or condition from conception through natural death. We are therefore called to defend. protect, and value all human life (Psalm 139

For the purpose of this organization's faith. doctrine. practice. policy and discipline, our board of directors is the organization's final interpretive authority on the meaning and application of our statement of faith and conduct.

All volunteers who meet with clients will go through a training period with one of our team members. All volunteers who work with clients are asked to be available at least one 4 hour shift a month.

All volunteers who meet with clients must agree with Her Haven of Light's Statement of Faith. All volunteers must operate in alignment with our culture of providing Christ-centered, compassionate, non-judgmental, non-manipulative care to our clients.

Due to the nature of our work, with every client we serve experiencing a crisis, each volunteer must be well trained to follow a process that ensures each client is served exceptionally and their information is kept confidential to meet HIPAA requirements. Each potential Volunteer will be given a back-ground check that they will be responsible for paying a $20 fee for and will train with our Staff and other seasoned volunteers to be exposed to the issues our clients have faced. You will also go through additional training specific to our operating model, and get hands-on experience through job-shadowing. Our team will partner with you to determine when you are ready to operate independently. This orientation process is vital to ensure our clients are treated with compassion and excellence.
