Please be aware
Please be aware that if your geyser needs to be replaced, an insurance excess will be payable upfront. Once replacement is confirmed, the geyser call centre will let you know the exact amount. This should be paid directly to the installer before the new geyser can be fitted. As at March 2026, geyser replacement excess - R3,000 (stainless steel) / R3,500 (standard) Repair excess - R750 Resultant damage excess will apply if applicable. The final excess will always be confirmed at claims stage. The replacement unit is a higher-spec stainless steel geyser that does not require anode replacement, which removes most of the future maintenance costs. In terms of Prescribed Management Rule 31, geyser maintenance and replacement fall under the owner’s responsibility. The scheme’s insurance therefore offers valuable financial support with the excess being far more affordable than paying the full replacement cost privately. A confirmation will be sent to the submitter's email address provided. Thank You!
