Undocumented Student Scholarship

About the Scholarship

Quakers are strongly committed to values of equality, integrity, community and peace. This scholarship is in furtherance of these values.

Sacramento Friends Meeting offers scholarships to continuing undocumented students at Sacramento State University. This scholarship is in response to the inadequacy of financial assistance to college students who do not have permanent legal documentation.

Students from all disciplines are eligible for a scholarship.
Eligibility Criteria

• Be undocumented (regardless of DACA status)
• Have completed at least three years of high school in the U.S.
• Have completed at least 12 units at CSUS before spring semester of application year
• Demonstrate financial need
• Have a college GPA of 2.75 or above
• Demonstrate service on campus, in the community, or at home

• Personal Essay: In an essay of 500 to 1000 words, please discuss the following:

a. Financial need
b. Academic and/or personal challenges
c. What you are doing to reach your goals
d. How you have served others either on campus, community or at home.
Scholarship Payment

The scholarship consists of $1,000 per semester for two semesters. Students may be enrolled part time or full time during the semesters they receive the scholarship. If a student skips a semester, the scholarship may be applied to the next semester. Recipients will be notified in June.

Students awarded a scholarship may be eligible for a subsequent award dependent on satisfactory academic progress and the availability of scholarship funds.
