Doctors in Recital is a community event led by local physicians which raises funds to support area programs to improve the health, wellness and quality of life in Brown County. Funds are raised to support both a community nonprofit organization and a music education partner. These beneficiaries are selected at the start of the planning year through a competitive application process.
The community nonprofit organization is the primary beneficiary and receives 80 percent of the net proceeds raised from the year's fundraising efforts; the music education partner receives 20 percent. (This amount may be divided simply by the number of music partners or, if DIR partners with more than one, the amount may be based on the stated need request). To date, over one half million dollars has been donated to community charities since the program's first event in 2007.
The application deadline is Saturday, February 11, 2023. The Doctors In Recital board will review all applications and invite finalists by Monday, Feb. 27.
The top 3 finalists for each category will be invited to interview either Sunday, March 12, or Monday, March 13, 2023, with the chosen 2024 partners announced by end of March. Please save those dates from 5:30-8:30 PM to be available for interviews.
The 2024 concert will be held on Saturday, Jan. 27, at the Weidner Center.
