Dear Artist,
Chokran Bzef ... for your interest in this residency grant for Moroccan emerging artists at Green Olive Arts in Tetouan, Morocco! This grant was made possible by generous donors who share our committment to promoting and facilitating the Moroccan arts movement.
The current open call is for the 3 week WINTER 2025 Residency: February 3 – 22
Applications are now open and the DEADLINE TO APPLY is October 30, 2024
There will be two more Open Calls next year for our 2025 Residencies.
The application for SUMMER (June 30 - July 19, 2025) opens March 14, 2025 and the deadline to apply is April 18. 2025.
The application for FALL (September 15 - October 4 OR July 14 - October 6 - 25, 2025) opens June 16, 2025 and the deadline to apply is July 16, 2025.
For those who are awarded this residency grant, it will pay for ALL residency fees (except for a 200 MAD deposit which must be paid within 1 week of acceptance to secure the space).
The residency includes:
- Creative community with other visiting artists from around the world
- A high quality shared studio space for 3 weeks, with furniture & equipment
- A weekly lunch with all the artists in residence and staff
- Staff available on site to help facilitate your time of production
- Access to our studio facility, with basic tools, easels, wifi, storage, and our website and social media promotion
- 700 MAD for purchasing materials and supplies to be used during your residency (official facturas required)
- Culminating Open Studios Night exhibition at the end of the residency
- Transportation, Food and Housing are not included in this residency, but we are available to help arrange housing if needed.
Because we hold a high value of community and collaboration, artists accepted for this grant will have a studio shared with one or two international artists, encouraging creative influence across cultures.
Artists of all mediums may apply – drawing, painting, sculpture, writing, film, design, photography, performance, music, etc.
To be considered, you must be Moroccan-born and complete this Residency Grant application (not our regular application), including a written proposal of the project you intend to work on during the residency, an artist statement, a CV and a portfolio of recent works. Eligible artists must be early in their career, just recently graduated, or in their final year of art school.
Below this letter is the application start form. Once you submit it, you will receive an email with a link to your application, which you can return to as you edit and complete it, until you click SUBMIT at the end.
Our Selection Panel will review your application and notify you whether or not you are approved for the next step in the selection process, which is an interview with members of the panel (in person, or by Zoom if necessary), and then the final decisions will be made. The review process takes less than 2 weeks.
