Microneedling Consent Form
I understand microneedling creates micro-injuries in the skin which stimulates collagen production by stimulating the skin's repair mechanisms. These micro-injuries create channels which allow better product penetration which enhances results.
*
I understand that microneedling uses sterile needles and skin is prepped with numbing antiseptics and serums.
*
I understand that a series of 3-4 treatments are needed, spaced out 4-6 weeks apart. I understand that I may need 6-8 treatments depending on area treating and severity of skin issues.
*
I understand that my skin will be red and sensitive after treatment. Tightness and a burning sensation may occur after treatment and will diminish in 24-48. Swelling or bruising is also common.
*
I understand that my skin will take 3-7 days to heal and that I may experience slight redness, swelling, discolorations and sensitivity while my skin heals.

Microneedling, also called Collagen Induction Therapy, uses a microneedling tool with tiny needles to prick the skin and make micro-injuries in the skin. These injuries stimulate collagen and elastin production as a part of the skin's healing process. Microneedling is considered a minimally invasive procedure with little downtime. The procedure takes 45-60 minutes and numbing is included to ensure you're comfortable throughout the procedure. Microneedling can cause pinpoint bleeding during the procedure. Skin is prepped with disinfectant and numbing cream as well as serums to help the tool glide across the skin and promote healing and collagen production. Immediately following microneedling, the skin will be red and flushed, similar to a sunburn. You may experience swelling, bruising or discolorations while the skin heals. These will subside in 3-7 days. There is a risk of infection so its essential to follow proper aftercare protocols to ensure skin is kept clean and reduce the risk of infection or other complications. 3-4 sessions are typically needed, spaced about 4-6 weeks apart. In some cases, 6-8 sessions may be needed. Microneedling can reduce stretch marks, atrophic acne scarring, hyperpigmentation, fine lines, wrinkles and pore size.
