MEDIA APPLICATION PROCESS = DECEMBER 15, 2022 - JANUARY 25, 2023
Thank you for your interest in providing media coverage for the 2023 Progressive King of the Hammers Powered by OPTIMA Batteries. To register as official media, you must fill out the application in its entirety. All onsite media operate under the Hammerking Productions Film Permit.
Onsite Media - Onsite media at the event will receive more information including gate access, USAC license purchase and mandatory meetings after media application has been reviewed and accepted.
Remote Media - For media who cannot attend the event onsite but will cover the races from afar, please fill out the following application and denote this information in Remote Offsite Press section for access to the media portal.
PRESS & MEDIA IS DEFINED AS:
LEVEL 1 - Press outlets on assignment (onsite or remote) = Outlet staff and freelance journalists specifically on story assignment. For example: Four Wheeler Network, Racer, Autoweek, Race-Dezert, national, regional and international news, lifestyle publications, etc. Media on assignment for official ULTRA4 sponsors.
LEVEL 2 - Team media = Media representing an individual race team(s).
Team Media credentials are limited to 2 people (photographers/videographers) that have access to restricted areas. Team photographers and videographers are approved for restricted venue access ONLY on race days that their team racing and qualifying.
LEVEL 3 - (If approved, fee-based media license required)
Commercial Social Media Channels and companies collecting content for commercial / advertising use (not official sponsors).
USAC FEES: All media must purchase a USAC single event license. (This includes your gate ticket to Hammertown.) A purchase link will be sent in a separate email after credential approval.
Camping permits may be purchased online at www.kingofthehammers.com.
NO COMPANIES OR TEAMS MAY USE FOOTGE FOR commercial documentaries, streaming, television or feature film use without approval.
Vendors and teams capturing still and video within Hammertown pits and vendor area for social media and website use are welcome to do so and do not require a media credential.
RESTRICTED VENUES:
Restricted venues include start/finish, short course and rock venues.
Level 1 – Access to restricted areas
Level 2 – Access by Race Team media on the qualifying and race days of the team’s participation
Level 3 – Dependent upon media license/content collection requirements
MEDIA TENT:
Credentialed media have access to the Media Tent including work space, Internet (as available), etc. Level 2 media may use the space on the days their respective team is qualifying and racing. Space subject to availability.
REQUIRED BRIEFINGS:
All credentialed media are required to attend a safety briefing prior to accessing the course and restricted areas of the race they are covering.

ALL COMMERCIAL PROJECTS ARE OPERATING UNDER HAMMERKING PRODUCTIONS FILM PERMIT. ALL PROJECTS COMMERCIAL IN NATURE, INCLUDING SHOOTING FOR A PAID TELEVISION OR STREAMING SHOW OR SERIES MUST REGISTER AND PROVIDE A COMPLETE OVERVIEW OF THE PROJECT AND DISTRIBUTION.
