Nominee should be tasked with responsibilities similar to: 1) Plans, organizes, establishes objectives; resolves difficult and complex operational issues; participates in the administration of a Communications Center and supervises one or more employees. 2) Is familiar with all operations and functions expected of subordinates and demonstrates that knowledge on a regular basis. 3) Monitors and evaluates staff performance for completeness, accuracy and compliance with established policies and procedures. 4) Recognizes performance issues and takes appropriate measures to correct or praise employees. 5) Quickly prioritizes and organizes operational functions and makes appropriate decisions in stressful situations. 6) Recognizes and mitigates potential issues within, or affecting, the Communications Center and able to diffuse tense situations. 7) Maintains a professional attitude at all times and ensures employees maintain the same. 8) Promotes a positive working relationship with subordinates as well as supervisors, coworkers, and other professional entities.

Eligibility: Nominees must have been employed in the applicable category by a public safety agency or actively in Communications Training during the time for which they are nominated. Nominees do not have to be a members of the Missouri Professional Training Partnership, Missouri APCO, Missouri NENA or Missouri 9-1-1 Director's Association.
Nominee should be tasked with responsibilities similar to 1) plans, developes, schedules and conducts on the job and/or classroom training for 9-1-1 and public safety communications call-takers, dispatchers, and supervisors. 2) Evaluates trainees' skills and job performance. 3) Assist with developing and enhancing trainees' professional knowledge, skills, and abilities through in-service training or career development training. 4) serves as a Partnership instructor for basic communications or continuing education courses.

Nominee should be tasked with responsibilities similar to: 1) function as a front-line dispatcher or call-taker for police, fire and/or EMS agencies. 2) Operates telecommunications equipment to receive emergency and non-emergency phone calls. 3) Determines situations from callers and ascertains all required information for dispatch of a call. 4) Relays information to a dispatcher (if a separate position) via CAD or manual dispatch cards. 5) Operates radio equipment to dispatch first responder units to request emergency services; receives radio traffic from first responders; monitors emergency and support radio frequencies. 6) Maintains unit status and practices both decision-making and multitasking skills. 7) Operates computer equipment to assist both officers and citizens with the retrieval of information. 8) Maintains security and confidentiality in the performance of assigned duties.

Nominee should be tasked with responsibilites similar to: 1. Manages the installation, operation, and maintenance of equipment. 2. Knowledge of current NFPA code adoptions for public safety in-building radio systems. 3. Maintains knowledge of 700 MHz, 800MHz, 900 MHz, and P25 radio communications systems and equipment. 4. Establishes work priorities, implements schedules, coordinates, supervises, and assists with the installation of systems and equipment; troubleshoots complex installation problems and makes appropriate modifications to support member agencies. 5. Possesses experience in UHF/VHF radios, repeaters, digital/analog microwave and extensive network of mobile radios. 6. Demonstrates ability to work with many different user agencies. 7. Has knowledge of radio network administration and connectivity principles, processes, protocols, and systems security. 8. Prepare sand maintains various records of maintenance and operation as required by theFCC including renewal of FCC licensing. 9. Installs and/or oversees the installation of radio site ground, antenna systems, security systems, carrier equipment, emergency power generators, fuel systems, towers, transmission lines, and site alarm status reporting equipment. 10. Maintains current experience in state of the art electronic equipment repair, including bench repair and radio transmitting and receiving equipment. 11. Plans for infrastructure additions, site expansions and improvements as necessary to insure coverage and systems reliability. 12. Assists in troubleshooting and maintaining the communications network and computer-based systems to ensure inter-operability with other government agencies and offsite access in emergencies.

Eligibility: 1. This award is designed to honor a youth whose courage and determination to obtain assistance for another person during a critical event went above and beyond all expectation. The award winner will have shown exceptional calm while providing essential information for responders. 2. Eligible candidates must be under the age of 17 at the time of the incident. Must have initiated or been the primary contact with a Missouri communications center during the incident. 3. The timeframe of the incident must fall between February 1 of the previous year and and January 31 of the current year.

Nominees do not have to be a members of the Missouri Professional Training Partnership, Missouri APCO, Missouri NENA or Missouri 9-1-1 Director's Association. The nominee should not be eligible for any of the other MPSCC Award categories.
Nominee should hold a title similar to: Nominee should hold a support staff position similar to: Executive Administrative Assistant, Administrative Office Assistant or any other support position in which the individual has played a significant role in enhancing and improving morale and/or operations in the center.
