Note:

If your child was baptised in an Eastern Catholic Church (such as the Maronite, Melkite or Ukrainian Churches) your child would have received all of the sacraments of initiation (baptism, confirmation and communion) during their baptism liturgy.

This is also the case if they were baptised in any of the Orthodox churches (not in communion with the Catholic Church), such as the Greek Orthodox, Coptic Orthodox, Ukrainian Orthodox, Russian Orthodox, etc.

They are welcome to be part of the preparation for Reconciliation and Eucharist, but they should know that this will not be their 'first communion.'

If your child was not baptised at St John the Evangelist, Campbelltown, a copy of their certificate will be needed. Please email a photo or scan of the original certificate to the parish office (campbelltown@dow.org.au).

Children must have been baptised in the Catholic Church, or received into the Catholic Church, and have received the Sacrament of Reconciliation.

ENROLMENT COMMITMENT:
We desire to enrol our child into the Parish Preparation Program to receive the Sacrament of Holy Communion for the first time.
We recognise that we are their first teachers in the ways of faith and that we are doing our best to provide for our child a true pattern of Christian living. In particular, we acknowledge a commitment to the celebration of Sunday Mass and of family prayer.
We are aware that our child must be carefully prepared for full and active participation in the Sacramental life of the Church, and that the responsibility for this preparation is primarily our own.
We rely on God’s help and the continued support and encouragement of God’s people in the Church to faithfully accept these responsibilities.

Program Cost

There is an enrolment fee which covers the workbooks, certificate and gifts.
Enrolment fee of $25 (per child) to be transferred electronically into parish account by EFT.

You can also pay by debit or credit card for $25.75 (including processing fee).

If you also need a Reconciliation Book, add $10 for that.
