I am the founder of Doodle Rock Rescue, and this particular breeder was one of the first I began working with back in 2016. Many families in Dallas purchased from them, and they were frequently spoken about on social media with high regard. However, I had insight into what was happening behind the scenes after befriending one of the caretakers. Through him, I discovered the poor conditions in which these dogs were kept. For a year, I tried to shut them down, but unfortunately, the laws in place are weak, and they were just meeting those minimal standards.
Realizing I couldn’t shut them down, I decided to work with them, despite my personal feelings, always smiling and accepting their dogs. I knew this was the only way to give these dogs an opportunity for a better life. Since then, we’ve taken in over 100 dogs from them, and every one of them has been incredible and thrived in their adoptive homes.
Due to the overwhelming number of doodles currently in the care of Doodle Rock, and because the breeder gave me a Monday deadline (plus, they have a mom and litter that we are trying to place through Doodle Rock), I am adopting these puppies out through CHEW, a nonprofit veterinary hospital I opened in 2021 in Dallas. 100% of the adoption fee will go to CHEW's Compassion Fund.
