    NBTA rules and judges will be used for NBTA Miss Majorette of Ohio, NBTA Ohio State Solo Championships.

    Fine Design is the t-shirt vendor for the Miss Majorette of Ohio pageant and Ohio State Solo Competition. They will be available at the competition for your customized t-shirts purchases. 

    Spectator Fee: This event is being held in conjunction with the Arnold Sports Festival. Daily Arnold Fitness EXPO Tickets can be purchased IN ADVANCE at https://www.tix123.com/tickets/?code=ACUSA23 (3-day and single-day tickets available, purchase early for a discount) 14 yrs & under FREE if accompanied by an adult. Competitors are also FREE. 

    Program, Processing Fee of $25: Program is included with this fee. The program will include information about the contest and lane assignments. A limited number will be available on the day of the competition at a cost of $10.00. Sibling discount available when more than one sibling is entered. Email twirlamerica@gmail.com for details. 

    Miss Photogenic (non sanctioned) - Bring picture to directors table by 8:30 am on Saturday. Jr 0-12; Sr 13+. 1st trophy & sash; 2nd and 3rd medals.

    Most Outstanding Costume - Competitors stand in line to have costume judged. No modeling.  

    Arnold Rules: Open to all organizations. NBTA will prevail, with exceptions - National level judges from NBTA, USTA, AAU, etc have been invited to judge. Gymnastics will be allowed with the exception of aerials.

    **NEW THIS YEAR** Arnold International Dance Champion - Solo & Duet, time limit 3:00 minutes; age divisions: juvenile 0-10, junior 11-14, senior 15+; styles: jazz, lyrical, contemporary, ballet, hip hop, musical theatre. 

    Arnold International Twirl Champion 1 baton solo, time limit 2:30. 

    Arnold International Boys Twirl Champion 1 baton solo, time limit 2:30, age groups 0-12, 13+

    Arnold International High School Feature Twirler Champion 1 baton solo for 1 minute, then multiple batons, max 2:30 total. $100 scholarship for winner. There must be a minimum of 10 contestants for scholarship to be awarded. 

    Arnold International Collegiate Feature Twirler Champion 1 baton solo for 1 minute, then multiple batons, max 2:30 total. $100 scholarship for winner. There must be a minimum of 10 contestants for scholarship to be awarded.

    Arnold International Elite Twirl Champion Two part event: 1 baton solo and 2-3 baton solo. Two levels Junior 10-14, Senior 15+. ELITE CHAMPIONSHIPS - If you PLACED in the advanced/elite level in any organization, then you are invited to enter the Elite Championships. $100 scholarship for winner. There must be a minimum of 10 contestants for scholarship to be awarded.

    Arnold Twirl and Performing Arts Clinic featuring Annetta Lucero, on Saturday at approx. 4:00pm - 6:30 pm. Cost $55.00. Only paid participants can be in the clinic area. You must participate in competition to join clinic. Clinic sign up on entry form.

    Private lessons with Annetta Lucero -- You must participate in competition to take a private lesson. You should submit your entry form FIRST, then sign up for a lesson time. Failure to submit your entry form prior to signing up for lesson may result in the cancellation of your lesson. Only ONE lesson per twirler is permitted. Additional lesson time will be deleted. To be placed on a waiting list for additional lesson time, email twirlamerica@gmail.com. Register for a lesson time on Sign Up Genius. Lesson times are offered on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. If you do not submit payment as directed, your lesson time will be canceled.

                                                                                                                    • Compliance Rules In order to run a successful event, all participants and spectators must adhere to the rules set forth by the contest director:

                                                                                                                      1. To encourage social distancing the number of spectators will be limited. 
                                                                                                                      2. All in attendance will be required to have a signed waiver and pledge to follow the Compliance Rules. Guests and athletes will be issued a wristband. to indicate completion of this step. These wristbands should be worn throughout the day. Athletes will be asked to wear these bands on their ankles.
                                                                                                                      3. Dependent on local rules -- Masks may be required to be worn at all times while in the building. Athletes may only remove their mask when actively competing. 
                                                                                                                      4. No popup tents are allowed inside the gymnasium. 
                                                                                                                      5. No food or drink in the gym except for water for the competing athletes.
                                                                                                                      6. Social distancing must be practiced throughout the facility including bleachers, awards table, and head table.
                                                                                                                      7. Multiple hand sanitizing stations will be available throughout the facility. Athletes and guests are encouraged to visit them frequently.
                                                                                                                      8. It is recommended that athletes arrive to the facility in costume and avoid costume changes. 
                                                                                                                      9. Additional details will be provided as the competition date approaches. The Contest Director reserves the right to enforce these Compliance Rules and remove anyone not following them. 
                                                                                                                    • Arnold and NBTA Miss Majorette of Ohio and Ohio State Solo Competition Participant Waiver of Liability

                                                                                                                      In consideration of being able to compete in the 2023 NBTA Miss Majorette of Ohio, Ohio State Solo Championships, and/or the affiliated open baton twirling competition the undersigned appreciates, acknowledges, and agrees that:

                                                                                                                      1. Participation includes possible exposure to and illness from infectious disease including but not limited to MRSA, influenza, and COVID-19. While particular rules and personal discipline may reduce this risk, the risk of serious illness and death does exist; and
                                                                                                                      2. I knowingly and freely assume all such risks, both known and unknown, even if arising from the negligence of others, and assume full responsibility for my participation; and
                                                                                                                      3. I willingly agree to comply with the stated and customary terms and conditions of participation with regards to protection against infectious disease. If, however, I observe any unusual or significant hazard during my presence or participation, I will remove myself from participation and bring such to the attention of the nearest official immediately; and
                                                                                                                      4. I, for myself and on behalf of my heirs, assigns, personal representatives and next of kin, HEREBY RELEASE AND HOLD HARMLESS Fran Hershey, director, Michelle Sposito, co-director, TwirlAmerica, Twirling Buckeyes Baton Corps, NBTA, their agents, assistants, board members, representatives, employees, or assigns, sponsors and if applicable owners and leasers of premises used to conduct the event, WITH RESPECT TO ANY AND ALL ILLNESSES, DISABLILTY, DEATH, OR LOSS OR DAMAGE TO PERSON OR PROPERTY, WHETHER ARISING FROM THE NEGLIGENCE OF RELEASEES OR OTHERWISE, to the fullest extent permitted by law. FOR PARTICIPANTS OF MINORITY AGE (UNDER AGE 18 AT THE TIME OF REGISTRATION) this is to certify that I, as parent/guardian, with legal responsibility for this participant, have read and explained the provisions in this waiver/release to my child/ward including the risks of presence and participation and his/her personal responsibilities for adhering to the rules and regulations for protection against communicable diseases. Furthermore, my child/ward understands and excepts these risks and responsibilities. I for myself, my spouse, and child/ward do consent and agree to his/her release provided above for all the releasees and myself, my spouse and child/ward do release and agree to indemnify and hold harmless the releasees for any and all liabilities incident to my minor child’s/ward’s presence or participation in these activities as provided above, EVEN IF ARRIVING FROM THEIR NEGLIGENCE to the fullest extent provided by law. I HAVE READ THIS RELEASE OF LIABILITY AND ASSUMPTION OF RISK AGREEMENT,AND FULLY UNDERSTAND ITS TERMS, UNDERSTAND THAT I HAVE GIVEN UP SUBSTANTIAL RIGHTS BY SIGNING IT, AND SIGN IT FREELY AND VOLUNTARILY WITHOUT ANY INDUCEMENT.
