The Residency
During MGW's full artist residency, we completely shut down operations of the business and give over the resouces and staff artists to help artists complete important works which advance their careers.
Resources include a hot shop (300lb clear furnace, multiple color pot furnaces, annealers, sand casting supplies, etc), warm shop (large 3.5' x 6.5' flat bell kiln, GL 20 glass kiln) and full cold shop. We also have a fab lab with CNC and 3d printers, but please coordinate requirements in advance.

We support three types of artist residencies:
- Full Immersion residency - A full two weeks of nothing but completing your work, interrupted briefly for Saturday open houses where the public is invited in to watch you work. A living stipend is provided, as is full support of MGW staff artists for the duration of the residency. Sundays are free to enjoy the Monterey Peninsula.
- Partial Immersion residency - A 3 day period of complete access and free use of MGW studio including staff artist support.
- Workshop residency - A 3-5 day weekend workshop allowing artist to teach their techniques or bring a team to complete an important art commission.
Professional artists may apply for any of the three, ermerging artists are welcome to apply for either Partial Immersion or Workshop residencies.
