  • EARNED INCOME TAX CREDIT (EITC)

DUE DILIGENCE DISCLOSURE & TAXPAYER CERTIFICATION

    A Unique Experience

    • SECTION 1: EITC ELIGIBILITY ACKNOWLEDGMENT
    • EARNED INCOME TAX CREDIT (EITC) ACKNOWLEDGMENT
      Tax Year 2026 | Filing Season 2027
Required for All Taxpayers Claiming EITC

I understand that in order to claim the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC), I must meet all applicable IRS eligibility requirements.

      2026 EITC INCOME LIMITS
My earned income and Adjusted Gross Income (AGI) must be below the applicable limit:

      Three or More Qualifying Children
      $62,974
      $70,244 if Married Filing Jointly

      Two Qualifying Children
      $58,629
      $65,899 if Married Filing Jointly

      One Qualifying Child
      $51,593
      $58,863 if Married Filing Jointly

      No Qualifying Children
      $19,540
      $26,820 if Married Filing Jointly

      ADDITIONAL EITC REQUIREMENTS
      I understand and acknowledge that:

      • I must have a valid Social Security Number that meets IRS requirements for claiming the EITC.

      • My filing status must qualify for the EITC. If I am married but not filing jointly, additional IRS requirements may apply.

      • I must meet applicable U.S. residency and citizenship or resident-alien requirements.

      • I cannot claim the EITC if I file Form 2555 to exclude foreign earned income.

      • My investment income cannot exceed $12,200 for Tax Year 2026.

      • I must have qualifying earned income.

      • Any child used to qualify me for the EITC must meet applicable IRS relationship, age, residency, and joint-return requirements.

      • I must provide accurate information regarding where my qualifying child or children lived during Tax Year 2026.

      • I must disclose if another parent, guardian, relative, or taxpayer may be eligible to claim the same qualifying child.

      • IRS tiebreaker rules may apply when more than one taxpayer could potentially claim the same qualifying child.

      • I cannot be the qualifying child of another taxpayer.

      • If I am claiming the EITC without a qualifying child, I must meet the applicable IRS age, residency, dependency, and other eligibility requirements.

      TAXPAYER ACKNOWLEDGMENT & CERTIFICATION
I understand that receiving the EITC in a previous year does not automatically qualify me to receive the credit for Tax Year 2026.

I understand that my tax preparer is required to perform due diligence and may ask additional questions or request supporting documentation before claiming the EITC on my tax return.

I understand that A Unique Experience Tax & Financial Services may refuse to claim the EITC on my tax return if the information or documentation I provide does not reasonably establish my eligibility.

By electronically signing this acknowledgment, I certify that all information I have provided regarding my income, filing status, marital status, dependents, qualifying children, residency, and EITC eligibility is true, complete, and accurate to the best of my knowledge.

I understand that providing false, incomplete, altered, or misleading information may result in the denial or repayment of the credit, additional taxes, penalties, interest, or other action by the Internal Revenue Service.

My electronic signature confirms that I have read, understand, and agree to the information contained in this EITC acknowledgment.

    • SECTION 2: QUALIFYING CHILD & HOUSEHOLD CERTIFICATION
    • QUALIFYING CHILD & RESIDENCY DUE DILIGENCE VERIFICATION
      Tax Year 2026 | Filing Season 2027

I certify that all information I provided regarding the qualifying child(ren) listed on my tax return is true, complete, and accurate.

      I certify and acknowledge that:

      • The qualifying child(ren) I am claiming meet the applicable IRS relationship, age, residency, and other qualifying-child requirements for the tax benefits being claimed.

      • The qualifying child(ren) lived with me at my main home for the period required under applicable IRS rules.

      • I have accurately disclosed where each child lived during Tax Year 2026, including any periods the child lived with another parent, relative, guardian, or other individual.

      • I have informed my tax preparer if another taxpayer may be eligible to claim or has attempted to claim the same child.

      • I understand that only one taxpayer may use the same qualifying child for EITC when IRS rules do not permit multiple taxpayers to use the child, and IRS tiebreaker rules may apply.

      • I have provided accurate information regarding my marital status, household, and the costs of maintaining my home when that information is required to determine Head of Household filing status.

      • I understand that my tax preparer may request documentation to verify the child's identity, relationship, residency, school or childcare records, medical records, household information, or other information necessary to establish eligibility.

      • I understand that providing a birth certificate or Social Security card alone does not establish that a child lived with me for the required period.

      TAXPAYER CERTIFICATION
I understand that providing false, incomplete, altered, or misleading information regarding a dependent, qualifying child, residency, household, or eligibility for a tax credit or filing status may result in the adjustment or denial of the credit or filing status, repayment of refunds, additional taxes, penalties, and interest.

I further understand that certain credits may be prohibited for 2 years if the IRS determines that the credit was improperly claimed due to reckless or intentional disregard of the rules, or for 10 years if the IRS determines that the credit was claimed fraudulently.

By electronically signing below, I certify that I have read and understand this Due Diligence Verification Statement and that the information I provided to A Unique Experience Tax & Financial Services is true, complete, and accurate to the best of my knowledge.

I understand that my electronic signature serves as my acknowledgment and certification of the statements above.

    • SECTION 3: MAXIMUM CREDIT DISCLOSURE (NOT GUARANTEED)
    • EARNED INCOME TAX CREDIT (EITC) MAXIMUM CREDIT ACKNOWLEDGMENT
      Tax Year 2026 | Filing Season 2027

I understand that the maximum Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) amounts for Tax Year 2026 are:

      • $8,231 – Three or more qualifying children
      • $7,316 – Two qualifying children
      • $4,427 – One qualifying child
      • $664 – No qualifying children

I understand that these amounts represent the maximum possible EITC and that qualifying for the EITC does not guarantee that I will receive the maximum credit.

My actual EITC amount will depend on factors including my verified earned income, Adjusted Gross Income (AGI), filing status, number of qualifying children, and other applicable IRS eligibility requirements.

I understand that my tax preparer cannot guarantee a specific EITC amount or tax refund before my complete tax information has been reviewed and my return has been accurately prepared.

By electronically signing this form, I acknowledge that I understand the maximum EITC amounts listed above and that my actual credit may be less than the maximum amount based on my individual tax situation.

    • SECTION 4: REFUND TIMING NOTICE (PATH ACT)
    • EITC & ACTC REFUND TIMING ACKNOWLEDGMENT
      Tax Year 2026 | Filing Season 2027

I understand that if I claim the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) or Additional Child Tax Credit (ACTC), federal law requires the IRS to hold my entire refund until at least mid-February.

I understand that this requirement applies to my entire refund, including any portion that is not related to the EITC or ACTC.

I understand that the IRS being legally permitted to release my refund after the required hold period does not mean that my refund will be deposited or received immediately in mid-February.

My actual refund date may vary based on IRS processing, return accuracy, identity verification, additional review, offsets, bank processing times, or other circumstances.

I understand that A Unique Experience Tax & Financial Services does not control IRS processing times, refund release dates, or bank deposit times and cannot guarantee the date that I will receive my refund.

By electronically signing this form, I acknowledge that I understand the EITC/ACTC refund hold requirement and that my tax preparer cannot expedite or guarantee the release of my refund.

    • SECTION 5: TAXPAYER PENALTY & PERJURY DISCLOSURE

I understand that I am responsible for providing truthful and accurate information regarding my income, filing status, dependents, qualifying children, residency, expenses, credits, deductions, and any other information used to prepare my tax return.

I understand that intentionally providing false, incomplete, altered, or misleading information may result in:

      • Repayment of refunds or tax credits received

      • Additional taxes, interest, and accuracy-related penalties

      • Civil penalties or fines

      • Criminal penalties in cases involving tax fraud, false statements, or perjury

      • Disallowance of certain tax credits for 2 years if the IRS determines the credit was claimed due to reckless or intentional disregard of IRS rules

      • Disallowance of certain tax credits for 10 years if the IRS determines the credit was claimed fraudulently

I understand that my tax preparer is required to exercise due diligence and may request additional information or supporting documentation when information provided appears incorrect, inconsistent, incomplete, or questionable.

I understand that A Unique Experience Tax & Financial Services reserves the right to refuse to prepare, sign, or electronically file a tax return when sufficient information or documentation has not been provided or when the information presented cannot reasonably be verified or supported.

By electronically signing this form, I certify that I have reviewed the information I provided and accept responsibility for its accuracy and completeness. I further acknowledge that my electronic signature serves as my certification and agreement to the statements above.
