Thank you for your interest in applying for the Going with Grace End of Life Training Retreat. The intention of this application is to get to know you better while giving you space to explore clarifying questions.

We acknowledge what it takes to share openly about aspects of your identity, particularly at a time in the world where we are witnessing deep levels of social, political, economical, and ecological crisis and uncertainty. This application will give us insight into the community forming for this retreat. We thank you for your honesty and vulnerability.

Going with Grace aims to create a compassionate training experience and develop a collaborative community of death care workers. With that in mind, please share with us the answers to the application questions. All responses will be kept confidential within the team at Going with Grace.

Please note that admission into the retreat is not guaranteed after applying. Applications are reviewed through a careful and thorough process to ensure that each submission receives fair consideration. We evaluate applications based on their individual merits, rather than using a first-come, first-served approach. Given the large number of applications we receive, we ask that you allow our team up to 14 weeks to review your application and email you with your admissions status.

How did you find Going With Grace?

One of the key principles at Going with Grace is justice. Death is a social event, and how we die is a culturally constructed process that is informed by social power dynamics that are not equal. In response to this, our team practices deathwork as a form of activism that rallies against systems, standards, and structures that keep marginalized communities on the margins all the way through to the end of their lives.

As part of our commitment to justice and liberation work, we've prioritized making our programming as accessible as possible to aspiring death doulas from different communities, diverse backgrounds, and lived experiences. We believe that our deathwork community should reflect the broadest demographic of folks we can hope to serve from the wider community and we are thrilled to offer a limited number of enrollment spaces at different pricing tiers.

Before applying for Retreat Tiered Enrollment Pricing, carefully review the criteria outlined below. Please select the Tier that best fits your current needs to ensure that our work remains accessible to all who would like to participate.
Tiered Enrollment Pricing is limited.
A non-refundable $25.00 application fee and non-refundable $500.00 deposit will be included in the total cost of your retreat package.
Monthly payment plans are available for all tiers with additional processing fees to cover additional processing costs.

Retreat Tiered Enrollment Pricing is for those who meet some to all of the following:

Experience housing insecurity.
Experience inconsistencies in meeting basic needs.
Experience instability in employment opportunities.
Are supporting children or other dependents.
Have significant debt.
Have medical expenses not covered by insurance.
Are eligible for public assistance.
Have immigration-related expenses.
Are an elder with limited financial support.
Are an unpaid community organizer.
Are returning to the workforce after incarceration / have been denied work due to incarceration history.
Experience discrimination in hiring or pay level.
Are Black, Brown, Indigenous, or Person of Color.
