The Nampa Library is accepting laser engraving and cutting requests.

Engraving or cutting time for objects can not be longer than 2 hours. Items to be engraved cannot be deeper than 2", and no larger than 12" x 20". The engraving area is 11" x 19". The cost of Engraving/Cutting is $2.00 per item plus 10 cents per minute of laser time.

The Glowforge laser cutter can engrave or cut wood, fabric, leather, paper, plexiglass, mylar, and rubber. The laser cutter can only engrave glass, marble, aluminum, and coated metal. For an additional charge we can engrave additional types of metal using a black Laser Marking Spray.

Engraving can be text or pictures. The laser cutter can also trace/scan a picture, and engrave that design onto an item.

Library staff will contact you to coordinate a time to meet and work on your project.

The Library’s laser cutter may be used only for lawful purposes. The public will not be permitted to use library technology to create
material that is:
a. Prohibited by local, state or federal law.
b. Unsafe, harmful, dangerous or poses an immediate threat to the wellbeing of others, including weapons.
c. Obscene or otherwise inappropriate for the Library environment.
d. In violation of another’s intellectual property rights. For example, the printers will not be used to reproduce material that is subject to copyright, patent, or trademark protection.

Print queue priority will be given to Nampa Public Library cardholders.
By using the laser cutter, the patron assumes all responsibility for, and shall hold the Nampa Public Library harmless in, all matters related to patented, trademarked, or copyrighted materials.

You also understand that you are responsible for charges incurred by submitting laser engraving request and accepting the estimate. Prints will be held for 2 weeks after completion. If you do not pick up the print, the charge will be added to your library account.
