  • How to write a biography

    Tips

    • You don’t have to talk about all of the theatre experiences that you have had. Write about the more popular ones that people might have seen or more recent ones, (so you don’t have to talk about a part where you were a flower and dancing when you were five).
    • Make it look and sound professional. Be frank, and not too full of yourself.
    • Keep it short and interesting. Don’t write something really long and boring, since no one will want to read it.
    • Don’t write something really long, because it might sound like you are bragging. No one likes someone who brags.

    Warnings

    • Your biography may be edited by theatre staff.
    • It might take some time out of your day to write this

Remember the biography has to be written in third person (Make it sound like somebody else is writing about you).

Thomas Curtain, who plays the role of Michael, is extremely proud to be joining the cast of Mary Poppins

Don't start with your name. Give a few details about yourself, and DO NOT mention your school. What grade you’re in is fine, but it’s obvious that you attend GSHS.

Originally from Brooklyn and is a Junior who is the Drama Club VP. His favorite subjects are English and Social Studies.

Indicate your theatre experiences. If you attended any summer acting schools, state what plays you have been in and what your role(s) were. If you perform in any other way (play a musical instrument, singing, dancing etc.), you may also want to mention this

Thomas first appeared on Broadway at the age of six as Chip in Beauty and the Beast. He is best−known for playing Gavroche in Les Misérables, during the show’s final season on Broadway. Thomas also enjoys playing soccer and has recently begun learning to play the violin.

Write your thank yous. Normally you would thank your family, any mentors you have, or anyone else you want to thank for their guidance.

Thomas would like to thank his mom, dad, and his sister Kate for their love and support. He also thanks director Frank Sutton for allowing him to enjoy this valuable experience. Thomas dedicates his performances this season to the memory of his late grandmother, Ruth Curtain, a former Broadway star who first instilled in him a love of performing.

  • Remember, you DON'T need to tell us that you attend Steinbrenner High School...we kind of assume that part.
