Thank you for your interest in fine line tattoo at Figment Tattoo.
For us, the term ‘fine line tattoo’ defines tattoos that use a single prong or very narrow configuration of needles, to create fine line tattoos that are no thicker than 2mm (ideally, less than 1mm!). Please keep this in mind when proceeding with your booking, that your tattoo is just as important to us as it is to you, and if we feel that we may not be aligned with the style of your tattoo, we may recommend alternate artists. We pride ourselves on the delicate results that can we can achieve with such fine needles, years of attention to detail, and a very steady hand! Additionally, this applies to shading. We will let you know if your desired tattoo requires more shading and therefore deviates from being a fine line tattoo.
We are happy to use coloured pigments for your tattoos, but please note that different colours can heal differently on different skin tones and it may not be recommended.
Soft healing means that the tattoo will heal soft and, to some, may appear slightly faded (on purpose). Given that we are working with such fine needles and creating fine line work, this ultimately allows for what we feel to be a delicate, dainty, and dreamy tattoo. You will have the option of a touch up at 6 weeks if you would like to build more density into your healed tattoo, but we would again gently remind you that this is the intended nature of soft heal tattoos, and we will also do our best to advise on whether your design is suitable for this style of tattoo.
Different anatomical sites can also alter the healed finish, and for this reason we will not be tattooing palms of hands or soles of feet, inner aspects of fingers, ears, or mucosal membranes (such as inside the lip or mouth etc.).
Minimum fee is $160, and you will be quoted on your design/s prior to securing a booking. All bookings require deposit and this deposit is non-refundable, as is policy with all Figment Tattoo services. Each tattoo cannot have a surface area of more than 36cm2 (eg. 6cm x 6cm, 1cm x 36cm etc.), however multiple single tattoos can be performed in the one service. This simply further aligns to our creative style of small, fine, and dainty tattoos- but we are all for plenty of them!
