The URG Scholarship Foundation was founded in 2014.  It is dedicated to those individuals who gave their talent, their time and very often their own finances to ensure the growth and success of the automotive recycling industry.  As a result of their vision and efforts, United Recyclers Group was formed.  Since its beginning in 1995, United Recyclers Group has flourished under the leadership of its past and current voluntary Board of Managers.  URG’s commitment to its members has remained constant.  Created by Auto Recyclers for Recyclers, URG remains focused in the areas of education, business acumen, and most importantly, supporting the automotive recycler in their efforts to provide superior service and exceptional products to the repair industry.

Thank you for your interest in the URG Scholarship Foundation Trade/Technical/Vocational Award.  This award is intended to provide assistance to those pursuing a vocational-focused education for technical skills required to perform the tasks of a specific job.  For your application to be complete, it will be necessary to provide the requested information in addition to your online submission. Funding is restricted, therefore only a limited number of scholarships are available.  The applicant will be firmly held to the criteria and submission deadline.  Qualified candidates may reapply annually for a maximum of 2 awards.  If selected, proof of enrollment in a trade/technical/vocational program will be required.

APPLICANT MUST MEET THE FOLLOWING QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Be either a full-time employee of a Licensed Automotive Dismantler, employed at least 1 year or a child of an employee of a Licensed Automotive Dismantler, employed at least 1 year, whose business organization (Owner) is a member of URG in good standing. Owners, their relatives, and those owning over $100,000 of stock in the employing firm are not eligible.

2. Be enrolled this year in a post-high school advanced training program that provides trade/technical/vocational education.

 APPLICANT MUST SUBMIT THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION WITH THEIR APPLICATION

1.  Transcripts of academic record from high school, college, university, or other institution if you graduated in the last 10 years.  It does not need to be an official transcript.

2.  Letter of verification from the URG member company. This letter should be on company letterhead signed by the owner, stating that the applicant or the parent of the applicant is currently employed for at least 1 year and in good standing with the employer.

3.  Completed Certification Form.  This form must be hand-signed by the employed parent or the applicant employee.  There are separate forms for each.  Please make sure you are selecting the correct one.  Submit only one form with your application.

4.  Letter of Recommendation (OPTIONAL) from a mentor, teacher, or employer that supports you.
