BlueCross Power of We Scholarship
The BlueCross Power of We Scholarship, sponsored by the BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee Foundation is issued to six promising, Tennessee minority students who wish to pursue careers in the field of health care. This award is administered by the Memphis Chapter of the National Association of Health Services Executives (NAHSE).

About NAHSE
The National Association of Health Services Executives' purpose is to ensure greater participation of minority groups in the health field. Its basic objective is to develop and maintain a strong viable national body of health care leaders to have input in the national health care delivery system. NAHSE has provided a vehicle for African Americans and underserved minorities to effectively participate in the design, direction, and delivery of quality health care to all people.
Award Details and Application Guidelines
BlueCross Power of We Scholarship Award: $10,000
Eligibility Criteria
All applicants must be current undergraduate students. Awardees will be selected by the NAHSE Memphis Chapter and must meet the following criteria:
* A promising minority student with the intent to obtain a degree and pursue a career in the field of health care
* Classified as a college Sophomore or Junior by the application deadline
* Minimum 2.5 academic GPA (4.0 scale)
* At least 17 years old (by the application deadline)
* A citizen of the United States
* A resident of Tennessee AND attending an accredited college/university within the state of Tennessee
* Enrolled during the current academic school year and planning to enroll in the 2023-2024 school year.
Required Application Materials
* Official Academic Transcript
* Two (2) Letters of Recommendation: Academic AND Community Service
* Completion of short answer questions
* Short introductory video
* Photo (once submitted photo will be the property of the NAHSE Memphis Chapter)
* A mandatory interview is part of the application process. You will be contacted no later than two weeks after the application deadline to set up an interview. (Face-to-face interviews will be required for finalists.)
Deadline
ALL application materials must be received or postmarked by March 31, 2023.
Late or incomplete applications will not be considered.

* PLEASE NOTE: The $10,000 award is paid out in one lump sum and is distributed by the recipient’s university.
