Unique Student Identifier Student Authorisation

What is a USI?
From the 1st January 2015 all students undertaking nationally recognised training in Australia Must have a Unique Student Identifier (USI). This is effectively a reference number made up of numbers and letters that give students access to their USI account.

The USI will allow an individual’s USI account to be linked to the National Vocational Education and Training (VET) Data Collection allowing an individual to see all of their training records, results, certificates and statements of attainment.

The USI will allow students (YOU) to have easier and more reliable online access to their training record and training history. It will also enable them to produce a comprehensive transcript (records and results) of their training, which can be used when applying for a job, seeking a credit transfer or demonstrating pre-requisites when undertaking further training.

No statement of Attainment, Qualification Certificate or Interim Certificate will be issued until we have your USI in our system.

Melbourne: An attempt by three prisoners to tunnel out of Melbourne’s Pentridge Prison was thwarted last night by prison officers. Police said a prison officer became suspicious about 7 pm, and a search of B Division showed three prisoners had attempted to tunnel through the interior walls of their cells.*
Brisbane: The issue of compulsory pool fencing was dividing the community and the Government should abandon it, the Queensland Liberal Party said yesterday. Liberal leader Denver Beanland said many people would refuse to comply with the fencing laws which could cost up to $400million if passed. For only a fraction of the cost, the State could pay for education courses that would drown-proof toddlers and infants most at risk. *
