WELCOME to The Carlsbad Oceanside Art League (“COAL” or the “League”) a non-profit organization, the purpose of which is to promote the education and cultural appreciation of fine arts in the community and provide a location for artists to learn to reach out to the public, display and sell their own artwork in our gallery as a collaboration with COAL.

Every Member is responsible to advise Membership of any significant changes to their email, phone number, or address immediately.

MEMBERSHIP: Runs from JAN 1 to DEC 31, and dues become delinquent by JAN 31st. Afterward, you are considered a New Member and the new pro-rated rates apply.

Our form of communcation is via email, please adjust your emails priviledges to accept all emails form COAL Tip: Check your spam folders.

The League does many things for its members and the community, and we are a volunteer organization that requires a monthly hosting commitment of 3 hour shift and, you will be expected to be trained to Host the gallery upon becoming a Member.

Since we are run by all volunteers, and require some form of additional volunteering assistance. You will be called upon for assistance from time to time to meet your obligations as a Member.

We need individuals who are capable, and able to understand directions, and read requirements and follow thgough on their commitments.

Please make certain "we" are a good fit for you, as you would be for us.

Our Activities and Services provided 1) Monthly Shows in our gallery every month, 2) Live monthly demonstrations, 3) Baffle Art, 4) Jewelry/3D, 5) Storefront members' sales and demonstration opportunities, 6) Art on the Green with weekend sales opportunity at the Carlsbad Inn, 7) Annual juried awards show for members and the public, 8) Youth art shows, 9) Monthly newsletter, "The Brushmark". 

Members individual responsibilities. Additional information is available and located online on your Members Info tab.  Membership begins on January 1 through December 31st, and is considered delinquent by January 31.

• Pay dues annually and on time (except for Life Members).
• You must show art in the gallery at least three (3) times a year in the gallery. (Open Shows and Annuals are excluded)
• Pay 20% commissions to the Gallery, plus 3%  credit card fee if used on all art sold at all NCAG gallery, shows or events participating as a Member.
• An art sale or commission generated from a gallery showing, or other exhibiting opportunities during and up to the 30 days afterwards, the artist is obligated to donate 20% of a "commission" to the gallery. Also, a request for specific artist details in order to procure a commission requires a 10% commission to the gallery for generating the client.
• IRS requires COAL to file a 1099 reporting for $600 or more in sales for any artist.
• Fulfill a gallery hosting (3-hour obligation for entering a Monthly Show). Substitute Hosts are available at a fee. (You will be trained before Hosting).

WAIVER TO INDEMNIFY COAL. All Members "please" read and acknowledge review of this document.

Membership dues are collected annually beginning December 1st and considered delinquent after January 31.  All Fee schedules are located in the appropriate selected Membership Categories above.

A $15 processing fee is included for any Membership selected after the deliquent date above. Thank you,
