WELCOME to The Carlsbad Oceanside Art League (“COAL” or the “League”) a non-profit organization, the purpose of which is to promote the education and cultural appreciation of arts in the community. To provide a location for artists to learn, grow, and to reach out to the community by displaying  their own artwork in our gallery as a collaboration with COAL.

Lifetime Members need not apply.

NEW MEMBERS. (Any artist that has not been a member, or not been a member for a year qualifies as a New Member)s) and whould have already had submitted (2) representational images for consideration to our Membership Director, and has been notified and approved for you are to move forward. being an active member entails, Here are some of the things to

consider:

• You will need to be accountable and reliable, showing up for

volunteering positions that you sign up for or are assigned.

• There is a monthly hosting requirement of a 3-hour shift when you

are entering our monthly shows. You will be trained prior to Hosting

the gallery, and if you are not able to Host, you must hire a

substitute from our list of approved members to assist you.

• Please review the Welcome Letter that comes attached with your

invoice, and review all of our activities and links to information is also located always on our Members Info page on our website.

•  
  The Gallery provides Services & opportunities; Monthly Shows, live monthly demonstrations, Baffle art space. Jewelry/3D space, Storefront members' sales and demonstration opportunities, Art on the Green with weekend sales opportunity, Annual Juried Award Shows, Youth art shows, Holiday Bazaar, Offsite Faires, and a Monthly newsletter, hosting receptions and more.

 

 

MEMBERSHIP: Runs from JAN 1 to DEC 31, and dues become delinquent by JAN 31st. Afterward, you are considered a New Member and the new pro-rated rates apply.

Our form of communcation is via email, please adjust your emails priviledges to accept all emails form COAL Tip: Check your spam folders.

As a non-profit managed by volunteers we need a commitement from all members to run the gallery. Please help where you can, it is important to everyone that we work together.

• Pay dues annually, and on time (except for Life Members).
• You must show art in the gallery at least three (3) times a year. (Open Shows and Annuals are excluded)
• Pay 20% commissions to the Gallery, plus a 3%  credit card fee if used on all art sold at all NCAG gallery, shows, or events participating as a Member.
• An art sale or commission generated from a gallery showing, during and up to the 30 days afterwards, the artist is obligated to donate 10% of the sales or "commission" to the gallery. 
• IRS requires COAL to file a 1099 reporting for $600 or more in sales for any artist.
• Fulfill a gallery hosting (3-hour obligation for entering a Monthly Show). Substitute Hosts are available at a fee. (You will be trained before Hosting.)
• Perform other Volunteer positions as needed by the gallery when requested if you are not already assigned a job..
