5. During an assisted canoe rescue, where should the 'swimmers' (i.e. the paddlers now in the water) go whilst their canoe is being flipped by the rescuing canoe?*
If you capsize, put the following in order of priority (1 being the thing to do FIRST):

D. Check your partner is OK *.
E. Paddle to shore *.
F. Get rescued *.

Journeying involves judgements (i.e. making decisions) on things like... when and whether to set off, pace, when to take rests, who paddles with whom…and is influenced by lots of things including the weather conditions, injuries, ability etc. Write what you would do if your partner said the following things to you:

“I think we’re going the wrong way"*
"I can see rocks in the water up ahead"*
