The Zachary Lammers Memorial Scholarship has been established to commemorate Zack Lammers, a Lockport Township High School Class of 2005 alumnus. On August 4, 2014 at the age of 27, Zack tragically died from an accidental fall. Zack is remembered, loved and missed by so many. He left an incredible legacy at LTHS, both academically and athletically, as well as one of giving back to the school and community that supported him in his youth.
Zack was a gifted student-athlete, a shining force both in the classroom and athletic fields. His academic accolades include Illinois State Scholar, Top Ten Percent - 4.6 GPA and Who’s Who Among American High School Students. He was a three-time State Champion – 2002 & 2003 in football and 2005 in baseball. During high school, Zack suffered several injuries while participating in sports but was able to overcome these adversities and continue to excel.
Zack graduated at the top of his class, earning early admission to Brown University where he was recruited to play football. His childhood dreams of attending an Ivy League school while continuing on to collegiate football became a reality. While at Brown, Zack was a member of the 2005 Football Ivy League Championship team. After graduating in 2009 with a degree in Economics, Zack started a career in the financial industry, working in New York and Chicago. Above all, Zack was an exceptional leader in every sense of the word, who led by example with integrity and character. He exemplified passion, dedication and perseverance, treating everyone with respect and admiration. He set a standard for everyone around him by the way he lived his life, which is an example for all of us to strive towards.
