BAR CODE*
The Bar Code is a series of 12 numbers located on the label of the product and is found underneath the vertical black bar area.
LOT CODE*
The Lot Code can be found in the same area as the Best Buy Date, and is group of 4 numbers, a space and then 5 more numbers.
TIMESTAMP*
The Time Stamp is found with the other dates, typically on the second line and in a 24 hour clock format hh:mm. (There are some products that may show the time as simply 4 numbers without the colon)
BEST BUY DATE*
The Best by Date is in a Month/Year format. Example: 03/2019. The Best By Date is a date for which Bar Harbor® Foods guarantees the quality of the contents.
PRODUCTION DATE*
The production date is in Julian Calendar code. Example: G0468“G” is an internal code for the product, in this case, Clam Chowder.The first three numbers “046”, the 46th day of the year. The last number stands for the year of production, 2018. This product was produced in early February 2018.
